The coils should work between the obd0 dizzys, but the dual port fuel injected models (crx dx, std and dx hatch, 2wd wagons as far as I know, and some sedans) lack a sensor and have a different plug than the mpfi models do. Just letting you know in case you go to buy a new or used dizzy to replace yours.
You check the main relay yet? I would fix it just because, I've never pulled one that didn't have the telltale signs of starting to fail, even if it was asymptomatic.
^^^^ Yeah main relay would be your next and should be last try. I'm not fond of just throwing parts at something to fix it but sometimes if its not one it's the other. Let us know!
Update: FINALLY found a 0bd0 complete dizzy. Will be putting that in once I wake up from the dreadful mandatory overtime at my work haha. Will update within a week and to clarify that the dizzy was the problem. Thank you everyone who's been trying to help me. Learned a few things from you guys. :encouragement:
Haven't put dizzy in yet (will be doing that this weekend) but Could it possibly be the crank sensor getting to hot and making it so it doesn't stay going when I press the gas peddle? Then not start after??? just curious if that could be it too?

I don't think I've ever seen a crank or cam sensor go out intermittently. They usual just take a dump. I'm pretty confident changing out the dizzy will fix your problem. Just as long as you know it was working on the car previous or that it works on a buddy's car.
And how dirty was your fuel filter when you changed it before the bogging started? Did you try to bang it out to see if there was lots of trash in it?
And how did you go about checking your fuel pressure?
I just wasn't sure if there was a crank sensor on the crank or in the dizzy. I changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, and the fuel pressure regulator. It drove fine for 3 days. Even went on a 2 hour trip to the mountains in it that weekend and was perfectly fine. It did hesitate a little when I turned the key over. Only thing I really noticed that period of time.
I had one of my friends check the fuel pressure. Really not sure what or how he did Because I was at work.
So update from today. So went and started my car and it idled for about 2 minutes and stepped on gas and died out. Put in the new ecu and still did it. New battery in it and still did it. Looked at the dizzy and I may be missing a wire from the dizzy sensor. Only noticed this because the one I am going to put in tomorrow has the missing one on the dizzy in it now.
Will be checking fuel pressure this weekend also.
So i took out the spark plugs and had oil on them. valve cover gasket was complete trash so I replaced it and new spark plugs. cleaned injectors again. It will start then when it idles it will shut off. If I step on the gas it will shut off when it wants to...
Still no luck. going to pull main relay once again and recheck all the grounds right now.
was the distributor new? maybe got a bad one- used is hard because some ppl are d-bags and sell bad parts. also ECU its worth just testing someones in your car to rule it out. I have one that sent south and caused shitty problems.

I've switched the ecu already and it didn't do much of anything. I really think it's a fuel problem cause it will start if I let it sit for more then 5 minutes. Once it's started it'll idle for about 2-3 minutes then shut off.
New fuel pump
New fuel filter
New fuel pressure regulator
Is the pcv all hooked up right? If it gets blocked, you can develop pressure(or vacuum?) And cause problems similar to this. I've never experienced it, but I've heard plenty of stories about it. Doesn't really seem like a good fit to the problem, but might be worth checking out.

If you know anyone with a distributor on a car that is working perfectly, try that. even new remans can be bad.
second, get a throttle body from a known working car and try that. (The TPS)
either your distributor is messed or your TPS is getting bad voltages and there are dead spots in either one.
i'll put $5 on it. seriously. i've owned nothing but EF's and 90' Accords for 15 years, i've seen it al...most.

OBD0 blows. upgrade to obd1 and be done with it.
I will hunt for another throttle body and try to find a working dizzy to make sure.
The obd0 does blow! I know I can convert it to obd1 but is this all I would need to do that? obd1 dizzy, dizzy harness, p06 auto? I heard that if I just swap that it will be better but the ecu won't work as good such as it won't shift right.
All fixed. Haven't had any problems with it for now. I still will keep updating with parts here and there.
I need to find a good gas tank though. The one in my car has a hole near the top (not patchable) and can't put more then $15 in it.
Anyone know of any good/reliable sites that sell a 89 RT4WD gas tank?
Update: So was running perfectly fine for 2 days. Died out again. I will be checking the fuel pressure Sunday. I really think it's not getting enough fuel but could be wrong.

did you ever fix your problem because I'm having the same thing happen.
once the car warms up it dies and won't restart until it cools down, like overnight.
I have exactly the same problem with my D15B4 Dual Carb ED3 Sedan. Idle's for 10 mins and then just turns off. Here's the wierd bit though, you can't use the indicators or emergencies when it's turned itself off! (found this out the hard way when it broke down on a freeway). Wait an hour or so and it will fire up and purr like a kitten (and then turn off agaon after 10 minutes of idling)

Would this work? Cause this is the one they have for me right now.
here is the one Autozone has for me.

Yep that will do it!
Now if that isn't the problem once I replace it what could it possibly be?
