Cool cantilever suspension mod by Weir Technologies.

  • I've seen those before. The only benefits I could ever see outta that would be your suspension is in the car so it would stay cleaner(less wear) and maybe if you tracked your car enough and knew what you were doing the ability to quick adjust your suspension w/o removing your tires and jacking up the car

    and it looks cool. kinda defeats the purpose of the wagon though.
  • You would still have to jack the car up I'd imagine, but not having to take your tires off would be nice. Also, It would be much faster to replace them in the case of a failure (might even be able to set up a quick release system). It would give you the ability to use many more set ups than before as well. On the flip side, it raises your center of gravity and takes up a good portion of the truck and some of the rear view. It looks cool though, might be worth it just for that. :D
  • From a old thread on NZHondas
    "ONLY reason that the suspension is mounted inboard is:

    * Gets shock assembly out of airflow/turbulence, allows shock to be mounted longitudinally in direction of body for better aero packaging.
    * More suspension tuning options through tuning of bellcrank ratios
    * Ease of changing/tuning
    * Increased robustness / replaceability
    * Better weight balance"

  • cool, thanks for the info!
  • his entire reason for doing the cantilever design was so that way he could install a turbo S2k drive line in his CRX ;)

    sick I know what my next project is going to be. Another pro to this setup is you could fit wider wheels.
