D16 forged internals or stock B18C4 for turbo?

I currently have a D16A9 in my Wagon and I am planning to go turbo. My aim is around 250HP for a daily.
For that I would need forged internals, was thinking of Eagle rods, Vitara pistons, ACL bearings, metal head gasket and ARP's. For that money I can get a B18C4 engine from a MB5 Civic VTI (UK). Other parts will probably cost the same (turbo setup alone) but I don't need to go forged internals. Was reading that B18C4 is much suitable for turbo because of lower compression and they hold 300-350HP on stock internals.
I am doing approx 20k kilometers per year, so would need a reliable engine with a bit more power.

What do you think?

One thing you might consider: the B series is physically bigger than the D. That leaves precious little room for a turbo in the cramped Civic engine compartment.
  • From what I've seen most B series have higher c:r than most D series. Vitaras are cheap as hell, and I think the D will net you more milage and more reliable with your parts list for boost. The D setup is very common and if tuned properly will last you as long as your stock one has.
