Civic Chump Car build

Civic Chump Car build!!

I turned my old drag car into a chump car, if you not aware of what chump car racing is its basically budget cars that are possible to buy under $500, you have to prove the car your racing is available for $500 or less running and driving. You do this my finding 10 for sale add's and show them to the Tech inspectors before the race, if your add's are BS or you cant prove your cars less that $500 you get penitently laps

This year we ran at PIR for the first time and placed 17th with 60+ car field The team name was Dragging Dragons. We were a 5 person team, one being myself and one being my wife. The car currently runs a D16a6 engine pretty much all stock with a chip/crome tune that helps make whopping 107whp!, not as much as the D16z6 turbo that the car had before putting out 685whp!

Here's a few pics of the car and team, enjoy!!

We had to adjust the door bar for road racing

This is awesome! So you have to buy the car for $500 or less, then what about mods? That can't be included in the $500 can it?

Anyways, looks like a lot of fun and good job on the finish out all the teams!

The $500 or less is the car + performance modd's, with my Honda the value came in at $495 with a average of 10 for sale add's I found online. So there was no room for modd's. If I can find cheaper cars online this winter I might be able to add a few small things if I can keep the value under $500.

Things that don't count are safety things like the cage, race seat, quick release steering wheel, upgraded brake pad's.

Oh okay, I was wondering about the cage and everything only being under $500. About to make me question the prices I pay for work done. haha.

I really like the rear brake cooling duct too, never seen that before.
  • How do you like Chump Car?

I've only competed in LeMons with my group so far. Our current '91 Hatch build is in the other build forum.
