4wd Hydraulic Transmission Swap

I have a 4wd hydraulic trans that i picked up from a jdm engine importing spot. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of what clutch and throwout bearing would be compatible with this trans.
Another question i have for you guys is... What hydraulic pedal assembly is compatible with our wagon chassis? 92-93 integra?
This trans is for a single cam.

unless your car is RHD good luck fitting a clutch master cylinder beetween your firewall and shock tower..... theres a few kits out there that let u use hydro trannies in cable cars im sure it would be easy to make it work....

    BTW what tranny u have?

Check the Hybrid sites.Isn't this hydro thing been done by peeps that put in Gsr trannies into EF's & CRX's.My guess is that it's the same Clutch & TO brg as the regular 4WD.

They are, but an EG5 RTi is a 92-95 Sedan. :P

I searched and all is the same response as far as the hydro conversion is concerned. "Its a pain in the ass and not worth it" I guess i'll just try to utilize the hasport hydro kit i have for a b series on this. P, how did you find that info? Aren't the 92-95 Shuttles/ Beagles also hydro?
  • HaydzHaydz Moderator
I know a few people who own EG5 RTi's over here in NZ. They use an S series transmission. The Shuttles and Beagles i can't confirm but i am pretty sure the Shuttles kept using the L3, but i have no solid evidence of that.

As far as the hydro conversion goes i think you'd need a pedalbox, slave cylinder and linkages, not sure what else.

I guess I'll just have to use trial and error for this one. Im going to do this when i get a dohc zc.

If you're super keen, try and get the OBD1 DOHC ZC because that's the motor some of them came with. ;)

Yes I will definately be smart about it. Im sure the 0bd1 would have less miles also. I just took my a/c compressor off one the other day. Im about to go check the compression on it and have my dude do a leak down test. He said I can get it for 500usd with all the paperwork.
  • HASport made a lever system that activates the EG 2wd hydro tranny with the stock clutch cable, im not sure if it will work on a D-series 4wd tranny though. you could call them and ask some questions about it...

heres the link to the lever setup - http://hasport.com/shop/product_info.ph ... cts_id=171

yea i bought that kit last november. Theres a lot of modding to do to get it to work. I already got started on making the bracketry to work. only thing left to do is the get the rear trans bracket to line up to the RTSi mounting holes.

An EG mount plate might need to be mated to the EF mount.

Its weird though. The eg's have a rear "T" bracket lke the b series and the ef's have the top mount plate with a bracket that mounts to it

Im going to update soon. My reverse finally took a dump 2 days ago. My only worry with this is the throwout bearing. I have to measure it and see if its the same as the wagon. Pics coming soon.
