My wagon was painted @ Macco. They could do a little better job taping off, but over. I'm happy with the paint.
  • One of my earlier vehicles needed a paint job when I was 19.
Maaco offered a urethane job for $600.
I did all my own prep work...removed anything uh, removable, wet sanded down to base coat and did some bondo ding repair. They knocked $200 off and just shot the car for $400.
I replaced everything and bought a few new trim pieces.
For $400, it was a damn nice paint job. Car looked brand new, not just painted.
  • I heard you can't buff it if you get a Maaco since its only a 1 stage.

you can definately cut and buff single stage paint. You just ALWAYS want to give tghe paint at least 2 weeks to cure before doing so. Ideally, i would wait a good 3 months. Paint takes about 6 months i BELIEVE to fully cure to its final state. Otherwise if you cut and buff too early, you risk ugliness from whats called "shrink back."

I honestly have seen a fair share of maaco paint jobs and i have yet to feel impressed with the work they do. Like mentioned earlier, they could REALLY afford to take a little more time taping things off but @ $600 for a paint job, time is money. I would REALLY reccomend going to a place in a nicer area and have them paint the car. Go to a place where they specialise in european cars and i promise you that the paint job will be the only thing you'll be humpin for days.

NO!!!!!!!! Dont do Maaco! If you care about your wagon. I mean you get what you pay for. If you care about the appearence of your car you will regret it if you go to Maaco. Spend a little more and you will be happy. trust me.
