87 civic wagon hitch

i have a 87 civic wagon rt4wd. i am wanting to install a hitch to pull small trailer with dirt bike. i see hitches are available for fwd models... but all say "exc 4wd model". why is this? i see a few pics of people with 4x4 wagons with hitches mounted.

why do they say won't work with 4x4.. and where can i get one?

i would ad a pic here, but photobucket is having fits at the moment.

    Posting in the appropriate section, or better yet searching in the right section will get you answers a lot faster.

    There's more than one thread here about hitches and members that make them. Please spend some time and look around. If it's something you care about at least.
