sending unit -- rt4wd vs dx

the gas sending unit in my 91 rt4wd is on its way out...

i have a potential transplant/donor lined up -- but it's from dx wagon. does anyone know, or can anyone confirm, if they're the same part?

    I wonder if they are the same for a hatch back also....I think the previous owner of mine installed one from a different model, because it is fresh and clean (new) looking, however, when the tank is full the gauge is reading 3/4 full....food for thought...
