Roof Rack on my 89 Wagon

I have a roof rack on my wagon that I bought brand new from the Honda dealer when I purchased the car. I decided to sell it to some guy who had been pestering me for it, since I never use it.

It is held on by 3 Philips head screws on each side. The ones on the ends will loosen up, but the two in the middle seem hopelessly tight. They are flatheads rather than the type with the protruding heads which are on the ends. Does anybody know how to get these suckers out? The heads are probably stripped by now.

Have you tried a damaged screw head remover? You can pick them up at your local hardware store. I have used them to remove many screws that were stripped. The bit just fastens into your drill and is double ended, one end for burowing the screw head and one for removing the screw.

    Cheers
