  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
    thanks for comps.....

i ordered the rear engine mount and some other little things so hopefully i can drop it in within next week and work on the wiring and exhaust
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
ok so my mounts are wrong or something. i got the motor in and the back and tranny side mounts seem fine, then the cam gear side mount is completely off. do i have to get a different piece that mounts under the cam gears or what?
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
what brand mounts do you have?
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
there enjo precision whoever the hell that is. they came with the motor,
other wise i would have bought hasport or avid ones. ill get a pic up a
little later of how far off the mount is.
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
never heard of them. a pic would help though.
  • jpciiijpciii familEE
sounds like your mounts are for a later civic and not an EF.

Arizona Racing makes good cheap mounts in addition to Avid and Hasport.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
yeah i think your right. well i guess ill have to get new mounts now....ill keep you guys updated on that.
  • bluhondabluhonda Band Wagon
the mounts might be right. the year of the motor might be diffrent. if it is get a side motor bracket mount off a 90 91 tega. thats what i had to do for my brother when we went from ef to eg. the bolt pattern is the same on the block side. hope that fixes your problem later.
  • HandofBoBHandofBoB New Wagonist
I've used enjo before and they were great, had a great feel. I would have to agree that you would need to change the bracket. I had a 94 motor and had to switch bracket from one off a 90. Hope you get it in.

  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
are you talking about the bracket that mounts to the block right below the cam gears? if so its already on there....the motor is out of a 92 teggy. i know the mounts are for the 92-95 civics, that mount by the cam gears is off by like a whole inch.
  • bluhondabluhonda Band Wagon
you need the mounts for 88 to 91 civic ls swap. is the car four wheel or two wheel. if the car is four wheel the trany mount is off by 3 quarters of an inch. the motor will be lopsided. if two wheel your alright.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
yeah i know i need the 88-91 mounts.....these ones i have now just came with the motor so it was conveinient, but its a front wheel.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
finally got my camera back, and i took a few pics of the mount that we are fabricating instead of buying new ones...

    219.jpg

we just need to get it welded up and ill get pics of that tonight.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
alright the mount is all welded up and sh!t, it just needs one gusset....but here is the just of it

  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
ok so the mont is finished and the motor is in for good!! thank god. too bad dumb azz me didnt measure the exact spot where to cut on the cross member so we have a little more to cut out. here are the pics.....

HERE IS THE MOUNT ALL FINISHED UP...
    230.jpg

A FEW SHOTS OF IT IN....
    231.jpg

    232.jpg

SO I PULLED THE FENDER OFF AND FOUND THIS SH!T...
    233.jpg

im gonna get the cross member all fixed either tonight or first thing tomorrow then ill start getting stuff on, and start on the wire tuck and wiring...
  • jpciiijpciii familEE
oh man, too bad about the crank pulley. They can be very stubborn to remove... the crank pulley bolt, I mean.

Great job with all the progress, though. Way to take matters into your own hands and kick that motor mount's ass. It came out really nice.
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
that engine looks damn clean dude. im glad to see nice progress! cant wait to see the end product 8)
  • OGWAGN1OGWAGN1 Wagonist
Wow keep it up man looks real good. How difficult is this swap to do?? Im looking to have my motor put in by about mid summer unless i really go crazy with it.

Looking to see the end result.

Im planning on slapping a turbo on mine tho. will i have any issues with my manifold hitting anything??? i work at an exhaust shop so im not worried about my downpipe. Wagon is a 91
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
honestly its kind of a pain in the ass since you have to cut the front cross member a little so the header will clear and then i think i have to swap the knuckles for integra ones, so i hear anyways. and of course wiring too. it will be bad ass though when its all done so it will def. be worth it.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
    update......
im gonna hopefully get my car finished and show it off at nopi next month on the 22nd. ill post up pics of parts and progress hopefully here really soon.
