  • I believe your are going to have to make your own shift linkages since wagon linkages are specific. Not 100% sure tho.

is your wagon dpfi or mpfi?
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
since im an idiot i dont know what either one means
  • Is your wagons motor stock? Im gonna take a guess and say yes.
  • jpciiijpciii familEE
Is your wagon an all wheel drive model?
    Is your motor stock?
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
front wheel and yeah its stock

read the first couple paragraphs here:

    http://www.4gcivic.net/wp/mpfi.html

if you want more technical info about doing a dpfi to mpfi swap, here are some more pages

    http://effinmotorworks.com/Effin_MPFI_swap.htm
    http://www.angelfire.com/d20/hcivic88/dx-siwiring.html

basically, you must do the wiring parts described in these write-ups. You cannot swap harnesses, sorry. You'll need to harvest plugs from your mpfi Integra harness, though. You'll also need the resistor box for your injectors and a OBD0 PR-4 ecu for a 90-91 Integra.

All this is assuming that your B18 is from a 90-91 Integra.... if it is from a '92 or later Integra, you've got additional wiring to do and you'll need a different ecu and won't need the resistor box. *EDIT* and maybe some other differences?
  • Why can you not plug in the middle harness for a ef si? The plugs are the same?
  • jpciiijpciii familEE
I can't give you a technical answer as to why this is (maybe someone else can) but everyone on every site says the only workable option is to modify your dpfi harness. If it was as easy as swapping to a mpfi engine harness, it would have been figured out a looooonnngg time ago.

the motor i pulled outta the wagon was a pgfi, and the LS im gonna put into it is pgfi as well but the ecu plug ins are totally different im guessing due to the integra ecu is obd1 and the wagon is obd0 but im not too sure.....i still have to rebuild the motor before i put it into the wagon....ill take a few pics tomorrow of the empty bay and the block before i finish tearing it down to get it hot tanked

if your car came as a FWD then it is DPFI, you will need to do the wireing for the MPFI and then since your motor and ecu are OBD1 you will need to buy a obd0-obd1 conversion harness. as for the linkage i hear you will need to take the teg linkage and cut 2 3/8" out of the straightest section of both bars and wld it back together, and of course you will need mounts.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
ok ok i got it yeah the motor pulled was DPFI and the LS is MPFI, and i already knew about the mounts and linkage.....um the motor came with three brand new avid mounts for by the cam gears and tranny and the back i believe but they were for an EF hatch would they still work with the wagon?

by the way here is some pics

The car sits so messed up haha

As you can see its pretty damn dirty and had a bad exhaust leak due to 2 exhaust manifold studs were broke in half. pretty much everything needs to be cleaned up
  • jeffsciv23jeffsciv23 New Wagonist
    yeah those mounts will work
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
    alright good
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
ok so now i got the head off, the pistons and crank pulled so its just a bare block....all i need to do now is get it to my neighbor and have it hot tanked but i dont know when this is going to happen, but hopefully it is real soon
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
alright so i got the block to my neighbor to be all cleaned up and hopefully it will be back to me by tomorrow evening.....i will soon be ordering a clutch new shocks, tires, ES tuning muffler, 2.5" piping, and a gasket kit along with bearings
  • pLaYbOipLaYbOi Wagonist
Before you get the clutch, ditch the LS tranny and get a b16 tranny(shorter gears versus the long gears on LS trannies) it'll be worth the effort.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
i dont have any money for a b16 tranny unless i sell my integra seats and old motors

but anyways, i just got the block back today and hopefully the hed gets here by the end of the week

well when we got the block back from the hot tank we noticed there was a deep scratch on the top so we got it milled down a six hundreth i believe which was a pain but it had to be done.

other than that, i got the whole block assembled today i am just waiting on the head and tranny
    here is some pics

Looks like you are making good progress. 8)

looks good so far. i should be swapping my semi built GSR into my wagon in the next two weeks.
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
thanks, and hell yeah that thing will haul ass i bet....i would have been done sooner if the motor wasnt so dirty and need a rebuild
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
alright sorry it took so long i just had some shit to do today....the head and cams are in, just waiting on order of an exedy stage 2 clutch and a few other things, but here they are

  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist

thats a really sweet valve cover job yo. so if its not finished yet, whats it going to be?
  • adamEFwagonadamEFwagon Senior Wagonist
well monday i am going to order everything else i need so hopefully it will be in the car and running in a week or 2. i think i might do a wire tuck as well since i washed the bay and its pretty clean to go with the clean motor, but im not too sure yet.
