Adjusting hood release

Evening folks...

I replaced the broken passenger-side hood hinge on my car today, thinking this would solve my hood release problem... no such luck.

I need an assistant to press on the hood (where the emblem is) for it to release when I pull the lever inside the car.

How do I adjust the mechanism under the hood so my hood will release?

    hey Lalu,
    i know this won't help, but i've got the same symptoms. Do you have a manual to look up the way to tighten/shorten the cable release itself?

    having the same prob i almost always have to reach in pull the lever and smack the hood to get it to pop unless i have a buddy to help.

    Where the latch sits on the radiator support you can loosen those bolts and move the latch, it may take a few goes but you can find a nice place for it to sit and it should work.

    I've tried adjusting the latch backwards but it doesn't help...

    I'm going to try adjusting forwards to see what that does.
