AWD is all the time my rex will be 4wd as in selectable from front wheel and 4 wheel drive. and when im feelin crazy RWD with some extra work.
I got a pile of parts today most of the fuel system, electric fan, and a cable to help me tune as soon as shes runnin. Im hoping to pull it back in the shop on friday and start to tinker with it. i swear im gunna be racing it at BOTI on the 23rd dont you worry.
hopefully it gets enough attention to inspire someone to try there own attempt at a 4wd rex or hatch and buy all this 4wd drive train i have sitting around.
Your project has given me the idea to maybe do the same with the extra drivetrain I have. I am still looking for the rear trailing arms though to make mine complete.
It would be sweet to drive to work in the winter in a 4wd CRX.
You going custom driveshaft or are you just going to modify the original? Maybe aluminum to free up some weight?
im using some of the wagon driveline and the carrier, slip, and center joint from a spare driveline the guy at the driveline shop had layin around i think its out of a ford..... ill post pix of it before i put it in.
I have it pulled back into a garage atleast now. not quite the shop but i can get some lil odds and ends done. tonight i fixed my mpfi wiring ive got spark now and no CELs. tomarrow im gunna put all my obd1 stuff in hook up the map sensor and see if she will run. then hook up the boost guage, wide band, and some other small things i can get out of the way before it rolls into the shop which should be thurseday.
anyone have a cheap 90* 2 1/2 coupler they wanna sell me?
got the fuel line from the firewall to the engine finished. the only reason i even did it like this was to save room on the firewall for my breather tank. I also got the radiator mounted, bought some misc fittings to plum in the fuel cell, and got the dp bolted on. gunna work on it tomarrow night after work a lil bit more.
got the shifter mounted, radiator mounted, fan attached and wired in, over flow mounted (still need a 90* fitting for it), radiator hoses ran, and picked up some misc other fittings for plumbing in the fuel cell.
thanks again jaker for the sweet radiator i love homemade stuff!
called in the measurements for the driveline today it will be done friday. tomarrow im gunna hook up the cables for the shifter and adjust them, install the oil feed and the oil return, and maybe even cut the hole in the floor so i can plumb in the fuel cell. hell I might be able to fire it up tomarrow...... ill post more updates tomarrow.

I'm glad you figured out the mounting by yourself. I apologize for not calling/texting you back. I was in the middle of 9 days straight at work, and all my family was here from out of town (all 6 of them), so I didn't have much time for anything.
I got away though; I'm sitting here at a resort in the middle of the desert in southern BC. It's hot, but it's beautiful.
That rad worked sweet for me, but I needed a bit more cooling capacity for the supercharged motor in an autocross environment. I'm glad it cleared your turbo setup. I've ended up going with straight 6 point racing belts for my car. None of the mounting points are there for the regular belts in the 90 automatic belt chassis. It'll end up lighter in the end anyways. I was going to have the race belts in there as well as the normal belts.
I like that radiator setup, what is that radiator originally for? The way I'm planning my setup out, I might need to do something similar to yours Matt. I have an intercooler that is about the same size as that radiator that I want to try to mount next to a radiator so I don't have to hack too much out of the front, at the most just hack in to the core support. And while we are on the subject of some homemade turbo shenanigans, I had this idea of running the lines from window squirters to squirters in front of the intercooler so that when I hit the squirters it actually cools the intercooler, cooling charge air. Don't think it would do too much idling but maybe at above a certain speed it could lower temps a bit and it wouldn't be that hard to do.
Matt, you still have those 310 injectors? If so PM me.
sorry i just sold those injectors last week..... im kinda doing a similar intercooler sprayer i took the washer bottle out of my wagon with 2 pumps on it and swapped it for my rex's single pump tank. i dont know how well its gunna work but it cant hurt.
got all the intake pipes finished, and have the fuel cell about halfway installed. we were just gunna cut a hole for the sump but we decided to build the tank its own tray to sit in. heres some pics for ya
ITS ALIVE!!!! fired it up today first try, no fuel leaks, and no CELs the delta cam gives it a lil rumble at idle i love it! tomarrow were gunna put the driveline in and get some drive time in.
woot, rock on man. haha you'll have to get video up of this beast running.
it would be wicked if you could get the trim or trim sticker from a 4wd wago, and throw it onto the side hahaha.
Badass. How did you do the front to run rwd only? Pieces of axle to hold the hubs together and block the passenger side of the tranny?
its got axle ends in the hubs, the half shaft and and inner axle on the pas side to keep the tranny from losing all its fluid.
Ya kinda not of me getting crazy in the car or anything. it needs tuned something horrible i thought my old tune would work awsome on it but its running funny. my temp sensor isnt working either so im sure thats a big part of it running like ISH. the delta cam makes this thing loud i thought i would get away with running it open DP for a while but its a lot louder than the wagon was open DP.
I pulled up to the gas staion to top off the fuel cell and i had a few lookie lou's checkin it out they sh*t when i told them it was RWD and that it was capable of being 4wd..... haha thats never gunna get old.
ya i power breaked it one time realy good last night haha and the 2nd gear dump around the corner was awsome this things is peg legged as F*CK tho it definetly needs a welded up diff to have fun in RWD. ive got a spare diff to weld up if i want.
