BrIaN_EE4's EG2 Racecar rebuild inprogress
BrIaN_EE4
Wagonist
not sure if you guys quite remember my thread on the old site HCW of my del sol "racecar" so i figured i would put another one on here seeing that i will be rebuilding it to make more power and handle more boost after i get back from Afghanistan.. before i deployed it made 511whp on 13psi with 91pumpgas..
i bought the car bone stock when i was in RnR from Iraq, in December 2009, from a dealership thats owned by a friend of the family for $2,500
i didnt touch the car until i got back from iraq in June 2009 but i ordered A LOT of parts while i was in iraq lol. i got back and a couple days after being back from iraq installed the Tein Flex Damperkit, CTR non SRS steeringwheel, CTR shift boot, Spoon Sports Duracon Shift Knob, Pioneer Headunit, GSR Blades, and ITR lip that i had bought while in iraq and bought a 2000 B18C1 GSR swap from a friend and put it in getting rid of the old super slow D15B7 also installing an ITR Header and a Buddy Club Pro Spec Exhaust i got off of another friend.
shot of it at IA09
i couldnt stand the chipping of the valve cover so i took it off and bought some wrinkle red paint from autozone and resprayed the VC
the car stayed like that for a little while until i got a wild hair up my ass to go boost. so i made my first attemp at boost with a kit off a friend (Garrett T3t04e .60trim turbo ar.48 hot, greddy type S bov, tial 35mm wastegate, log manifold, noname FMIC, heavyass intercoolerpiping, and DSM bluetop injectors) picked the kit up for $600..
had a little help from my step dad lol
i finally got it on the ground and street tuned and it wasnt bad but i kept having problems with it and it being unreliable so i took the kit off and went back with the stock GSR basemap to drive to CA.
right before i took off from TN to go to CA

new benen threepoint strut bar that i later traded for a skunk2 strutbar
i got bored with the setup that i had i figured i would do a wire tuck and battery relocate with a buddy of mine at his house on a weekend that we had off work
the bay was soo dirty from the desert in CA
the car didnt change much after that..
until i got that wild hair up my ass again to go boost.. but this time i wanted to do it right.. so i went all out spending $8k on parts and turning it into a beast.. build includes... full brian crower valve terrain, stock GSR cams, skunk2 cam gears, bored to 84.5mm and dart sleeved, 84.5mm weisco 9:1 CR pistons, cometic headgasket, GE H-beam rods, blueprinted and balanced GSR crank, ARP headstuds, ARP connecting rod bolts, moroso racing baffeled oil pan, full race v-band ramhorn turbo manifold, precision PTE6262 journal bearing v-band turbo, TiAL 50mm v-band atmospheric wastegate, HKS SSQV BOV, custom 3in intercooler piping, blackworks FMIC (dont remember size but its HUGE), revhard 3in intake manifold, skunk2 74mm throttle body, bosch 1000cc injectors, AEM fuel rail, oversized steelbraided fuel lines with inline fuel filter, walbro 255lph fuel pump, hondata 4bar map sensor, stage 4 6 puck competition clutch mated with a resurfaced ITR flywheel, all tuned on hondata S300 with boost by gear option which i dont use lol..
i dont have any pictures of the car when it had the bumper because i deleted every build thread and picture i had on the internet of the car after it was stolen..
this is what it looked like sitting in my garage after i picked it up from the impound, i was devistated!
then me and my friend started to build it up again after i got my new turbo in from precision (gotta love warranties!)
upgraded to a PTE 6266
what it looked like as soon as we got finished putting the car back together again
relocated my boost gauge to be more subtle
one of my favorite bay shots
got a new door a little while after i got finished repairing damages from the thieves
im now currently in the process of building the car to make more power on pumpgas and A LOT more power on E85 with ALOT more boost than just 13psi..
bought another 2000 B18C1 shortblock from a friend ~ $400
ordered bisimoto 2.4 cams ~ $800
currently looking at which piston/connecting rod combo i want to go with.. any opinions/info would be greatly appreciated
the wagon, my house, and me debating on buying a 2012 crosstour or 2008 denali are taking alot of my attention from the rebuild on my sol.. itll get there though
in consideration of buying::
fullrace B series twin scroll forward facing outlaw turbo manifold (so my fullrace ramhorn might be forsale, downpipe and dumptube included)
Precision Turbo and Engine PT7475 (max power rating 1,060hp), PT7675 GT42 style (max power rating 1,200hp), or PT88 (max power rating 1,250hp)
That's actually a pretty awesome idea for location of the gauge but I'm not going to do without my air vents, lol!
and now the del sol is being parted out, i absolutely hate to see it go because i love this car but it is time to move on.. im sure i will have another racecar project eventually.. but for now my main focus is to finish the wagon and buy my wife a new car
X2 I have car Jackers, I came out at one time to find someone trying to steal my wagon so i beat the shit out of him and got charged with assault lol
