why dont you do the dohc ZC swap

ok im open to most ideas im a novice when it comes to these types of things lol. oh one more important thing is that the exhaust came off behind the resonator so if anyone could lead me to a place for replacement parts that would be great!
  • i guess if your not wanting to to fab anything or wire anything you could run the same engine you have in there? is it a d16a6 or d15b2 or what? you have to do a little wiring if you have a dpfi, but if you already have the mpfi you can get a number of engines that are pretty much plug and play. the dohc is the best swap you could do if you wanna keep the 4wd , ive heard of people doing a custom b20 4wd also. as for the exhaust ive found one website with stock parts for these cars http://www.hondapartsnow.com/
they might have what your looking for.
  • just realized you had an 87 lol, you might have to fab some motor mounts up. i dont know if they sell any aftermarket ones for a 88+ engine swap into an 87

i dont mind wireing but i dont wanna do much cutting/welding. i did hear that the engine from the 86-89 integra would fit.(is this true?) im not doing this by my self. my best friend is a registerd tech. but he hates anything other than ford so i dont like asking him anything lol.

You have quite the project ahead of you.
First off, there is little in aftermarket shocks, for that car. Many parts are very hard to get. The 88-91 wagon has MUCH better parts availability.
I am assuming you have a RT4wd. The good thing is a D16A1 (86 89 Integra) will bolt to the transmission.

The challenge is your car has a carburetor. There is no computer, no electric fuel pump, no VSS, no sensor and computer wiring.

If it was me I would find a wrecked or rusted out 86-89 Integra. swap the engine, all fuel injection, the main harness (splice the main harness to the dash and rear harness. mount the Integra computer, install a fuel pump near the tank. The wiring will take some time.

No suspension parts exchange between a 84-87 civic and a 88 up civic. The wagon has a different rear suspension then the hatch.

You need to read this thread.

You can use shocks out of a chevy trailblazer and top hats out of a Mitsubishi mirage. The over all length of the shocks is 16" but any shocks the same style of them are usable. Its just a matter of removing the torsion bars.
