That's all I needed to know. Thanks man!
  • Nice goodies, good thing mine comes with all of that already. Remember I still have that Front Brush guard already painted to match your car sitting in my garage, even has fogs in it (don't work though).

Now get you some R33 Skyline wheels for that thing. Love the look of them on my wife's!

    Rage, rub it in! :P
Wish i could have taken the EDM roof rails, but no way i could pay for shipping from there.

I got something else in store for wheels ;) hopefully coming soon!

Currently working on lifting the V. What a B!!! Everything that could go wrong has, so far....
  • I thought about lifting ours as well, but the lift springs were twice as much as the lowering springs I have on it now, plus if I am going to lift something it is going to have to have a real 4wd system on it.

I told you if you ever needed anything shipped while you were here to let me know. Shipping to me, and having me ship it would have been pretty cheap.
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
I'm using strut spacers, so its costing about $40 to lift. ;)
As far as shipping, i'll look into that then in February :P thanks bud!
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
well what was supposed to be simple, turned into a HUGE pain in the arse. long story short i could only manage to do a 1.25" lift in the rear, and i left the front alone.

still noticable, and makes the CRV's butt sit level with the front.

little comparo next to my sister's V

i'll try to, once i get off my butt!
  • 215/75/15? Thats the size im going for but waaaaay higher offset. Cant have tyres sticking out like that here
  • BillBoardBillBoard council member
Tuff looking tread! The CRV is look mean! need to do something about restoring the door trim? looks a little faded? could be the pic....

also just noticed the grill!... nice!
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
Tires are 225/75-15, a tad biz meatier then i wanted lol. I had to trim quite a bit off my bumper and also the inner fender. But its all good now, and totally worth it! Not sure if i would have had this issue if the front were raised, but it is what it is.

Fortunately we don't have any laws in my state (that i know of) against tire poke. Fronts also got a 5 mm spacer for rims to clear brake caliper, so that doesnt help.

Bill, door trim is more or less same shade as bumpers, it may be the lighting in that one pic. Either way they were all faded pretty hard, these pics are after back to black treatment. Help a LOT!

Next up, sway bar end links, exhaust, and light bar! :) stay tuned lol
  • Looking tough my friend. Should have said something about rims, I have a brand new set of Honda 15inch steelies here you could have had for free to mount those tires on. I am going to remove my sidebars on my wife's and build a safari type rack for it. Stripping the GTR rims for some crazy powdercoat next year too!

Keep up the updates, it is good motivation!
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
    Thanks Rage, means a lot!
well, darn about the rims lol. oh well, these were cheap enough!
if you are getting rid of the side rails, I CALL DIBS! cause i want to get a set, but do not like the look of the USDM ones. let me know if you ever plan to sell them :D

and, here are some new pixores, tried my hand at off-roading  and i was VERY impressed with how the V handled the mud/giant puddles i went through. i do not have pictures of the "playground" as it was nearly midnight lol, but hopefully i'll be going back soon in the day time. the V wasn't even remotely close to getting stuck and i went though some pretty big ruts and puddles about 2-3 feet deep. also had a couple passengers aboard.

however, tires were rubbing pretty hard in the front here and there, and the body was flexing a lot in the rear, so i absolutely need to raise the front about and inch and some strut bars will be on order soon as well. other then that though, very comptent!

here is some evidence of the afterparty, lol. enjoy!

back a few years ago my x had a crv i was going to pick up these clear bumper lens

and also this grill with fog lights in it

keep up the good work ...

do you plan on brake up grade like Legend dual piston calipers to stop the larger tires..?
  • Probably wont need bigger brakes, not sure if USDM is the same but mine has 282mm brakes from factory, same as Type R etc (calipers just have slightly smaller pistons) so they stop really well. Plus they dont go fast enough to need big brakes
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
I like those clear bumper lenses, i might get some for the front! One side always pops out anyway, little tab is broken on it.

As far as brakes, as NZ said they are pretty good already, and the V is so slow there is no reason to really up them XD. Not sure how i would upgrade tho. There is alot more other things still needing attention first!

Thursday i'll going to make a second attempt at raising the front, and also replace sway bar end links and make a new "custom" (homemade) exhaust system. Stay tuned :P

    Thanks guys :)
I can't seem to keep her clean for longer then a day.. Too much fun to be had!
  • NZ-DB8RNZ-DB8R Moderator
I know what you mean there! The first 3 months I owned mine it went from clean to durty in a day then stayed that way for a week or two!

Need some front mud flaps to try keep the mud off the car!
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
Not much new, just having fun. Still need to lift the front.

    774.jpg

Did a compression check, along with a full tune up. Test results have me worried: 160,110,150,150 may be time for a new engine soon lol
  • Bah, its probably "just" a deteriorating exhaust valve on #2. They tighten up a bit over time on the B20Z2 when regular valve lash is not adjusted. Head job at worst, valve or two replaced at best. Get a leak down done. Nice V!
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
shes got over 210K miles on it, and these B20 engines are cheap enough, $600 shipped for a low mileaged specimen.
i also think it is a toasted valve. but it kept the compression steady at 110 with motor not turning... wouldnt it slowly go down?
i have adjusted the valves when i bought it, but obviously it would have been too late lol. anyway :)

power level is just waaaay down, struggles to stay at 60 mph.
  • bam-bambam-bam Council Member
Power lack didn't coincide with the installation of those big ol' tires, did it?:offended:
