Unofficial VC Test
Skyntara
Band Wagon
We all know the Official test for the VC. 4 Wheels in the air, running in first, handbrake on, car stalls.
The other day I was out with a 4WD club and I couldn't quite climb over a rough, steep section to get up a hill. One of the fronts was definitely spinning but I wasn't sure how much torque was going to the rears or if one of them might have been spinning. No one was really in a position to see so I gave up and came back down.
It's been bugging me so I decided to see when and how strongly the VC in my wagon would kick in.
Started with a basic test to get a feel for it, not sure where I'll go from here, maybe someone else will have ideas....

edit: after watching the vid a few times this is consistent with how I drive in slippery mud. As the fronts go into the sloppy stuff I tend to rev up the engine to get them spinning until I feel the rears bite then I ease off and power through. I was doing all this by feel but it makes sense now.

Comments
For some reason I had the fronts in the air and tried to run it.
Same result. Oops.
