D15B2 in place of D16A6 ?

I've been thinking, since my D16A6 drinks oil like a thirsty hitch hiker, what if I put D15B2 in it :?:
What if I put D15B2 in my RT4WD wagon?
Will the transmission bolt to the engine?
Besides less power, what should I expect from this ?
Cheers!

if we're talkin bout a rt then I'd say the mid shaft is a problemo

besides the d15 would need to do more work.

not sure what Akira means about the midshaft, but if all you want to do is replace the head and block, d15b2 should be plug-n-play. You might need to use your flywheel. You will loose some power, but you *might* gain some gas mileage.

I think you can put the d16a6 cam in there (or use the whole head) for a little better power... http://www.d-series.org/ will have answers to all your questions

The D15 blocks don't seem to have a place for the jackshaft bolts. One my d15b7, only one of them lines up.

On the RT4WD one side is a two piece axle, the middle piece is usually called the intermediate shaft. This intermediate shaft bolts to the back of the block, therefore the block needs the required mounting points to be a valid option for the RT4WD, that is if you wish to retain the RT4WD gearbox.
