Banded steelies

So I haven't posted on here in a while. I sold my wagon a while back and still kicking my self in the ass for it. I snoop around from time to time. I started a new project and just curious how interested people are in banded steelies. I'm almost done with my first set they are 15x8 4x100 et+10. I'm capable of doing any size any offset and any lug pattern. I live in Vancouver Wa. just north of portland. let me know what you think of banded steelies/widened steelies.

Nice work. I've been tempted to try that myself, as there's noone local to me doing them.

I resorted to Diamond wheels for my current project, and have been unimpressed.

You can always just buy the barrels too.
  • turbo_tegturbo_teg Council Member
thats cool i wonder what some RTcaps would look like on them might be a cheaper alternative to re-barrel.

Where can you buy just barrels? I will post pics as soon as all 4 are done and painted with tires. I want to put them on 87wagonsteve's ride and see if they fit will definitely take pics of that for you guys.

I have removed all posts from people asking to buy wheels, this is not the marketplace. Next one will get a warning and thread will be locked
  • EE4civowagEE4civowag New Wagonist
I'm not selling these yet if I do I will post in the market place. There is very few people in the U.S. that do this and it is becoming more in demand. If I get these done and they balance out and true up correct I will be posting in the market place letting people know I'm perficient in this trade. I will be finished to day and posting pics of all four done and primed waiting for tires to mount and see if they even balance out. I have heard bad things about Diamond Racing steelies hopefully I don't have same problems.
  • Removing a "I will buy them" post from a thread that is asking if people would be interested is a bit extreme isn't it?

Yes I bought 4 4x100 15x6 steelies cut them and added 2 inches now they are 4x100 15x8 with a +10 offset. I finished them today so now I need to get tires and see if they balance and hold air.

Big thanks to 87wagonsteve and driftin90 for tires 2 195 55 15 to see if these hold air and balance out. I should have pics tomorrow after the run/walk for epilepsy (family first). cant wait :D

your welcome! post up some pics when you get them on.
  • EE4civowagEE4civowag New Wagonist
so I picked up 2 worn 195/55/15 to go with the 2 tires that driftin 90 gave me. I had them mounted and they all balanced out fine and looked straight when spinning on the balancer. :D So 3 hold air just fine the one I had a little question with has a very small leak. The band was cut just a little short so I had more of a gap to fill when welding. I need to take tire off and grind and re weld. No big deal everything came out better than expected a quick grind and weld and it is golden. I will be getting that done tomorrow. my buddy with an 87 SI is comming over a little later so I will have more pics of them on his car.

So they look good on steve's wagon but we weren't able to go anywhere they dont fit 3rd gen without a little modification. He went and got his girls scion XA (also 4x100) we put them on it. My wife followed us to see if there was any crazy wobble or anything that seemed unsafe. We also felt no shake or any thing that was off while driving the XA. I did not take pics of them on XA but steve did and he should have them up soon.
  • I had a blast. Lol I like your pics better :P
