"puff the magic wagon" build thread- humorwvp

This is how I brought him home. The rear driveline was removed, it needed a u-joint. Plus these dollys are cheaper to rent than car trailers.
404.jpg

Shortly after I bought a dohc zc from a engine importer. Replaced all external parts, and gaskets. Also replaced clutch with a exedy stage 1 kit. New axles.
405.jpg

I then got a hold of some ground control coilovers and threw on my meshies. I have the ground controls at the tallest setting and still the car is low enough for now.
406.jpg

I mostly have been focusing on getting all the drive train components fixed or replaced because this is my daily. So I haven't had the dough to fix some of the cosmetic flaws.

Alphaxomega- yea the car feels good with the zc in there. Soon I'll be modifying my dc header to fit. Don't mind cutting it up cause I got it at picknpull for 18 bucks. Also a exhaust and bolting on my aem cold air intake.

90 RT4WD (Cody)- I let my younger brother have those rt wheels. I've checked your car pictures, car looks good. Hopefully mind looks that good someday

Installed my aem c.a.r.b. legal intake. I scored this on Craigslist for 35 bucks, but it was for a 96 civic. Did some cutting on both sides of the tubbing and made it fit. fits good.

  • Hows that new hood fit?
  • Hows that new hood fit?

I haven't put that thing on yet. Was hoping to score at least a passenger fender first.
  • I feel your pain there, I need both. I'm going to try and repair mine though. Good practice before I start tackling all the dents and scrapes in my 40 dollar ride.
  • So I was kind of busy this weekend doing a lot of work on my car. First things first, my distributor started making a bad noise. Then a week later the distributor bearing froze up causing my timing belt to jump and skip about half of turn on the intake cam. I bought a brand new distributor. 380.jpg
while I had the valve cover off and adjusting my timing, I decided to paint my valve cover. This is just the base color, I'm going to add another color on top with a design so stay tunned for that.381.jpg
Also my alternator bearing has been whining a lot so before it leaves me on the side of the road I swapped it for a good one I had lying around.382.jpg
And while I was down there I replaced the bad driver side axle seal.287.jpg
afew weeks ago my brother sent me these extended top hats he made. My brother is also a member here and his screen name is 1.5 ef. The fronts are extended about two inches and the rear about four.383.jpg

Here is the best part of the weekend. I picked up these two new front tokico illuminas adjustable shocks at a yard sale for 60 bucks. Score. Turns out this guy bought all the left over inventory from a performance auto store that closed a few years ago, he has a boxtruck full of new parts in boxes. He only let me go through a few boxes, it would have taken me all weekend to go through all of it. He said he is heading to Sacramento this week to a big swap meet to get rid of it all.

actuall store prize tag. 125 a piece.

    387.jpg
These are for a 92-00 civic, 93-97 delsol or a 94-00 integra so I needed the forks to fit these. That's when I called my friend Mike, he is also a member here goes by darktrickster. He gave me a good deal on these.388.jpg

And last installed a grounding kit I bought from devsports.

Bay shot. Next up the 4-2-1 header mod.

  • Sorry guys a forgot this one.

Here is a rolling shot my friend took of my car today after work.

  • hi guys I have a pretty cool update today. I've been having problems with my clutch disengagement ever since I did my swap and installed the exedy stage 1 clutch kit. I've had the swap for about ten months and have gone through 2 cables. Basically what was happening is that my peddle felt really spungy like I was pulling on a rubber band. It got so bad that I couldn't even shift anymore. I also tryed all the tricks out there to make the cable more solid like putting a hose clamp around the rubber bushing that goes on the clutch lever to keep it from flexing, and also clamping the actuall cable down to keep from slapping around when applying pressure. Well I found this company that specializes in custom cables of all kind, cars, trucks, commercial equipment, boats, motorcycles you name it.

Well so I sent them my cable because they required my core to use as reference. You could have them change as much or as little as you want. I my self went over board, had them make everything bigger and better. And here are some pictures to compare.

The only original piece is the clasp that hooks to the peddle, I had them make the piece that plugs in the firewall of metal, the original is plastic. Stronger bigger wire, braking strength is 3500 pounds.
    310.jpg

Here I had them delete the rubber bushing and replace with a solid aluminum spacer.
    311.jpg

Also had them make the adjuster all metal including the adjuster nut. As you can see the original is all plastic. You can see at the top part of the picture the green sleeving that is also stiffer, to keep it from flexing.
    312.jpg
Two weeks later and 150 dollars my clutch feel is greatly improved. Feels very solid and precise. The cable is very well built and the workmanship looks really good. probaly the last cable i will ever buy, if i switch cars the cable is staying with me for my next car, lol. thanks for looking guys and I apologize for the blurry pictures, I took these with my phone and my lense is scratched.
  • hi people, yesterday was birthday and my wife and little boy knew I wanted one of those woodgrain steering wheels for awhile now. So they got me this.
    690.jpg

I installed it then I thought what the heck lets go to the carwash then for a long drive. Here I am at the carwash.
    691.jpg

well that drive wasn't to long, this happened!
    692.jpg

I hit a manhole cover that was some how raised up a few inches from the road way. Bashed in my oilpan and it cracked.
    693.jpg
did some work on it today, removed all the things that I have to remove to get the tranny off. Looks like ill be busy this week.

http://www.push-pull.com/ this is there website. No I don't have a project or invoice number, you send in your cable and then someone calls you when they receive it. Then you discus what you want done to it. basically they are custom made to your specific needs.
