Concerns with swapping to a D16y7+Stick FWD '88

Hey guys, I'm getting very discouraged to keep the wagon even though I love it and even more since my GF got one too (looks a lot better than mine though =P)
I might buy a d16y7 with hydro tranny or just the longblock and I'll find a cable tranny which i think would be easier? But I have no idea if its all going to work, The wiring i can deal with, but the shift linkage, pedals, engine/tranny mounts and clutch cable all worry my mind and it makes me want to get a ef sedan or hatch where it will all be easier and more straight forward.. maybe im crazy?
I've searched but really did not find any useful information to clearly confirm what I need to do and I REALLY want to keep my wagon.
Anyone have any experience converting to stick on a '88 FWD Wagovan (EY3)

To do it right, use wagon pedals and clutch cable.
ONE BIG SNAG: All of the 1988 automatics I've seen, and some early '89s lack the hole in the firewall and the reinforcement for the clutch cable. Read through lil'ghost's build thread for pictures of when we did her conversion.
Edit*
Wow what a hassle =/ I think I rather buy another vehicle and take my time on the wagon. I cant have any down time because of my work + I dont have the tools to do what lil'ghost did just yet.
