Rear Differential Mounts - Holes Tapped on 2wd Chassis?

The last time I was at the junkyard I was checking out a '90 AWD wagon, looking at the mounting points for the drivetrain etc. in case I decide to try to do a 2wd/4wd conversion in the future (my wagon is an '89 2wd.)
Anyway, looking at my wagon, I'm not seeing the threaded mounting locations for the upper diff mount nor any threaded holes for the driveshaft "protectors" etc. on the body. Obviously, I'm aware that the rear of the differential mounts to 4WD version rear crossmember, so that's not my concern.
For some reason - wishful thinking, mainly :) - I was expecting to see threads, unless I just missed them.

So, do you know off-hand if I should be seeing them? Interchangeability/interoperability of parts across different models always seems to make for a lively discussion...

look up a member chadcouch and his build thread. he is converting his 2wd and it is more labor intensive than I thought it was. there are parts you would have to remove from the 4wd chassis to complete the job. it seems easier to just locate and buy an rt if you choose to want one.

I don't think those threads are there, nor are the mounts for the viscous coupler.

I'll look him up. It seems clear what parts will need to be transferred, but yeah without the threads I'd be moving parts of the body too! Finding a 4wd would be easier - you're right - but then masochistic part of me always likes to do things the hard way... that and the custom mounts I welded in for my 4wd CR-V tranny.
