rebuild or swap opinions

just want opinions on doing a rebuild or swap with another d16a6. i want to keep it a stock d16. should i buy a used japanese engine or do a rebuild(valve job,piston ring, etc.). just because it is starting to burn oil.
$1100.00 complete for the rebulid and $650.00 engine $200.00 shipping $600.00 labor+fluids and who knows.

i want stock factory spec. i'm not into all the performance. i've got most bolt-ons anyways.

i just want to know you thoughts.

there is no correct or wrong answer.

    with a rebuild, at least you know it's rebuilt. used is used with unknowns. plus it looks like it's cheaper with the rebuild.

    Rebuild, it's a sure bet that it'll work and you won't have to play phone tag if there's any problems.

    The D16 in my wife's Wagon was rebuilt about three to five years ago according to the dealer near me when I took it in for a valve lash and tune last year and it's very peppy.
