    Awd and 4wd and RT4wd do not seem to be scientific definitions by any means. So, like it was said before: Semantics.

    I will agree that using all wheel drive is very important when the vehicle does not have the typical 4 wheels but all of them are driven.

    I should point out here that I have an 86 civic wagon and when I turn on the 4wd ( push button) and I move in a circle ALL four wheels spin! it is kind of weird making hard turns on dirt or really backing up in a circle is were I noticed it.
