1989-1991 Civic wagon handling.

So how well does the civic wagon handle compared to others car of its time and modern time?

My Just hugs the basic curves at 55-60mphs mountain driving.
and tight corners that where I am a little afraid to push it.

I unsure but I’ve herd that it just a slight bit under the handling scores to some of the sports car of it time. And compare it to some today’s car that what I like to know?

Its this because of the design of the independent suspicion?

I know that adding sports tires and new coilovers will improve this but by how much more?

what improvement you noticed when adding new parts to your suspicion?

You can add the '88 in the mix too.The '88-'91/'96 Civic's are great handling cars.Easy ,predictable to drive FAST  .I remember when the CRX Si showed up at the race tracks. It was keeping up with the V8 Camaro's.Stock to stock.MOst peeps that have had the EF Civic's have said ,"It was their most fun cars".Even CAR & DRIVER Mag Editorial compared it to a Vette as been more fun to drive.Rare are comparison like that. The newer cars are not that much better, except for more toys like ABS,traction control, skid control, turbo, crazy wide tires, etc.

Now some comments on the OEM Wagon. It's better handling than the '84-'87 Civic's.The OEM shx are quite good. The Wgn oversteers a bit more than the CRX,which is why I haven't decided to put my TEG rear bar on.If you want the best things to do to your Wgn look up a OLD Car &Driver article they did on prepping a CRX for SCCA IT class racing.

Adding my Teins coilovers (to me) greatly improved handling on the wife's wagon. She actually loves driving her wagon a lot more now. It has been dropped quite a bit and handles the turns very well now. It helps to have the ability to adjust the dampening also.
