All the swap articles mention denting the 'frame' rail for alternator clearance, but nobody mentioned this:
I've been wondering ever since I set the engine in the car about clearance here, and sure enough, the hood was hard to latch and stuck up a bit. Just barely hit the corner:

Finally got to drive it tonight...what a difference!
...and no cracks about the welds. Just 'cause I own a welding machine don't make me a welder  In my defense, I was laying on the ground, welding cover passes over rusty old welds, trying not to knock over my PBR...
They all hit the hood. I had to do the same to my hood and I have Arizona Racing mounts so did NJ2 with his Hasport mounts. If you chop the valve cover like we did you will not have that clearanse issue.

thanks, that's good to know. I was trying to look at your underhood shots to check, but couldn't tell.
Well well I just took a good look at my own hood and what do you know? There is a clearance "dent" in the rail pretty much in the same spot yours is hitting. They did such a clean job of putting the dent in the hood that I never even noticed it before. Hell I was looking for it and it took me a minute to really see it.
finally got 'em out. Put them in the Xterra, then brainfarted and drove the wag. WILL SHIP TOMORROW! Please call me pre-lunch if you think about it- sometimes the day gets hectic and I forget stuff. (part of being a geezer.)
After checking out some bays I admire, I did a little carving
little by little 'til I could fit it in
also relocated the head/vc ground
and a big long single flash in OBD1ese is NOT a one, it's a ten!
Now, a wagonist who had NOT been enjoying a Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale would've known better than to back down the hill in the backyard to turn around... in flooding conditions
Guess I'm not driving the wagon tomorrow- it's STUCK
Looking good.. But I don't think mine hits the hood.. Wierd...
Hows those seat rails coming?
You could have let me know you were getting them somewhere else. I have been shuffeling these things around my garage for a couple months now, waiting for you to tell me you're ready for them. Thanks for nothing.
Update: i meant to carry a camera and get a pic of straight up 300K, but I didn't. Missed it last week, maybe I'll catch 400
Put rear exhaust section on a few weeks back. Mixed and matched stock parts from the manifold back(driver and parts car).Sooo exhaust is stock except 2 1/4" cat and 2" shorty Thrush turbo muffler. Sounds nice and mellow.
And some new window art
If you're into MTB this is some of the southeast's finest. Near Augusta.
is that a receiver hitch? if it is, what or how did you mount it? i need one for my waggy coz im planning to get back mountain biking.
thanks in advance
wagon.......4ever..........
That was an attempt at a receiver for my bike rack. I cut out the tow hook and welded in that receiver tube. It didn't work out. You could grab the rack (an old Hollywood) and flex the whole floor up to the back seat. No bueno
I do have another hitch half-built that will bolt to the car, I need to get back to that project soon... as far as I can tell, there has never been a true receiver hitch available specifically for a wagon. Search around a bit, there are multiple threads on the topic.

Holy crap I forgot all about those.. That was months ago... My bad..
It's cool Bam-bam.. I know it gets hetic so it's cool..
I'm a auto-body student that works at a trucking company... haha life sucks sometimes i get thrown around on different jobs all the time...
I'm being brutally honest when I say that Trev knows more about cars than I do. The only thing I added to the solution was just having seen a million check engine codes and telling him that his code was "10" and not "1." Had he realized it was a long, ten-type flash rather than what he thought was a short enough blink to mean code "1" (for oxygen sensor) he'd have never needed my "help."
From the topics he's posted I'd dare to say Trev knows more about the actual hands-on work on these wagons than anyone else here, period.
I have some mechanical knowledge and ability, but I'd get so frustrated trying to dissassemble and reassemble 3-4 wagons like Trev does that I'd quit.
I built my 1992 from the ground up, literally, but at this stage in my life I'm lazy, I have a kid, and I just simply have no desire for another teardown/rebuild.
aww, shucks  I wouldn't say all that. I'm just a 3rd generation greasemonkey. You guys amaze me with the Honda knowledge. I just might have you on Cummins, though! Thanks again!
''I have two sets. One is oem with new rings and the other set is made by D&J Rock Pistons, never installed, rings already installed. Either set is $100.''
MESSY! I've been experiencing a tapping noise at startup/when cold and wanted to be able to watch oiling. Readjusted the valves, engine now has 580ish miles (and 4th oil change :P )

Beats me. It was just a little ding where you see the paint chipped. I put a couple of layers of tape on and massaged it with a ball peen
Did Hasport make more than one version of b into 4thgen mounts? Seems it looks way forward, too :?
So they are HASport mounts?
Also exactly what mounting brackets are being being used?

Sorry to toss confusion into the fray Trev.

Did you guys figure out those codes?

Yes.
It was a code 10 for the IAT sensor. 5 miniute swap out of the old, nasty IAT sensor and problem solved.
I wish I wasn't at work so I could have come out!

Trev's the man, man.
