Stock RT wheel color?

Picked up some stock RT rims finally and they need to be repainted. I did some searching and couldn't find any info on what the stock color is, heck there may not be any info. I called Honda too and they didn't know. If you've had experience painting the RT rims what white did you use? I thought I remember seeing a build thread where the person was re-painting their wheels. They were showing how they masked off the circles to paint he insides black. Is that how it came from the factory?

According to HondaPartsNow.com when you browse to a RT4WD Civic Wagon then to the wheels section it lists this as the description: "DISK, WHEEL (14X5J) (KANAI) (NEW POLAR WHITE)" So I would look up whatever "new polar white" is.

Please keep this thread updated since I have been wanting to refinish my RT4WD wheels as well.

I repainted mine. I used Gloss white Industrial Enamel from Krylon. It's the spray in the silver can. I was very pleased with the results. And yes, I taped off all the little black circles as it came from the factory. It has been 16 months and about 12,000 miles and they have held up beautifully! Success lies in the prep work. Here are some pics from back when I did it. I did the center caps with the same white and did the black with Testors model paint in Gloss Black, which has also stood the test of time. It may not be exactly factory white, but i'm happy!

I am pretty sure that my hubcaps have stickers in them. I was planning on taking one to a local vinyl shop and having them make me some replicas in black.

I covered the whole black area with a couple of strips of masking tape overlapping onto the white area. Then I trimmed around the outline with an exacto knife leaving only the black area taped up. After painting and unmasking, you can touch up any mistakes with the black model paint and a small brush.
  • I painted mine artic white or polar white don't remember but came out way better

so you painted the white first then did the black?

The black was actually already there from the factory. I just masked it off, sprayed white and then touched up the black with a brush at the end. If I was starting fresh, I'd probably just do the black with a small brush.
