Debris in clutch housing

Took my car for a spirited 20 mile drive through the wilderness the other day. Believe to have trapped some dirt/mud/muck into the clutch housing as my car is missing the flywheel inspection cover plate. Now whenever I engage the clutch there is a loud screeching sound coming from the transmission, only while the clutch is being pressed in.

I have tried spraying some brake parts cleaner as the motor is turned over with the ecu fuse removed. Helped out some, but it still is making noise. Does anyone have another remedy to try short of removing the transmission, resurfacing the flywheel, etc?

Only while the clutch is pushed in? Sounds like clutch release bearing (throwout).

yeah if you got something lodged in there its possible you broke the release spring. mine was pretty gnarly when i replaced it...it may have broke and now is stuck.

Seems to be the general conclusion, my buddy said the same thing happened in his 4runner.

Will post some carnage pics after I get everything off
