i was messing around today with a wide angle lens and also took off my bra...err, my cars bra to see what the car looks like with the new clears
and for those who care, i have taken off that "spare" on the rack meh, and its only when i post pics that i notice my lisence plate up front is slightly crooked
gosh, it seems im always losing body parts.. cant wait to finally be "done" with the exterior
Ditch the bra...looks doper without it. Plus they retain moisture along with dirt and salt...
im not worried about that cause it comes off at least once a week for a wash and wax
salt..? what salt? but anyways... Savannah gets a lot of rocks and stuff thrown up from the road (think Paper mills..) so for daily driving its nice that it protects the bonnet.
doitdub, you are my Faithful hahaha.
oh, and about shift knobs... we'll see what happens with that
my friend and i went to a car meet a few weeks or months ago or something, anyways, and there was a guy who was like "who wants this Skunk2 shift knob" and my friend offered the guy $15, the guy said $20 and then they made a deal at $18. gosh i was so pissed, only thing keeping me from getting that knob was that i had no cash on me :x
the guy with the shift knob had a Mugen one and just had this Skunk2 one "rolling around in the trunk for the past month"...it looks pretty darn real
um, no sand blowing around here dude!
you know whats funny? that basically the only non-rear-quarter panel rust on the car is in the door jams where the "Ziebart rust proofing" dots are. literally, there is rust around those. idk wft they are but bascially its from them that therust is there :x
ah well... one of these days i'll get around to doing something about that, soon as i get a good job this summer hopefully
Yeah that Zeibart crap is a total joke. I've parted out a couple CRXs, and both had those plastic tabs in the door frame area, and both were the rustiest things I've ever been in.
If i were you i would remove that trim along the lip of the quarter panel. that is what starts rust. debris get trapped in there and form rust.
Funny I was always told that, but I don't agree. My 89 CRX doesn't have any rust, and still have them on there and I'll tell you why...
My 2000 Impreza had the same things on there. I thought the same thing...take them off so there's no rust in the future. Well, about 6 months later it started bubbling on both sides, and just getting worse by the week. Unless there's rust already there, it's hard to say whether it's beneficial to remove them.
Mine was rotten underneath that rubber piece. I pulled the lip away with that piece. The opels here don't have it and yet almost ALL the older years (early 90s) have rotten rear quarters. You can buy that rear replacement lip for almost EVERY car over here because it is so bad. I am sure the dirt, water, salt that gets back there doesn't help much but it doesn't seem that that little piece of rubber makes much difference.
Most of the Japanese automakers here don't have much rust. I did notice however that the underbody coating on the rusted side was falling off. The other side which is completely clean is completely covered in that undercoating.
i didnt have that rubber trimming there when i got it, but i just put it there for now to hide the rust that i have :? its all a temp. fix till i get this rust DONE AWAY WITH forever and ever and ever....... hopefully.

I still think the circuit hero one would go best with what you've got goin on.
As for the bra, you guys don't have sand blowin around in the air? I know we do.
BTW, I think your wagon is the only car I've seen that has a Ziebart sticker and isn't falling apart from all the rust.
