replace 4wd trans with 2wd

I've broken my rt4wd trans and can't find a replacement for it. 5 speed 2wd trans has tube style shifter instead of cable style on 4wd. Can the tube style shifter be fitted to my rt4wd chassis? Car has no driveshaft, so it's really 2wd anyway. Any info would be appreciated.

    you can find them its just what are you willing to pay?
    there is someone on here that put a 4wd trans on ebay for 200 shipped "unknown condition"
    also ebay has imported ones that are reasonable if you want to keep the 4wd.

    The answer to your question is yes. You would have to remove the shifter assembly and cut a hole for the new shifter. Much the same as an auto to manual conversion.

    Found two different ones when it happened, but one was sold to a local guy in Washington (understandable) and the second one in New Mexico was in a wrecking yard who never responded to my request for a quote. Wagos are very rare here in Texas, and most you find are 2wd.

    Thanks for the responses, I'll try harder to find one for the 4wd.
