This is a stab in the dark but i think most Honda steering wheels are interchangable... does it have 6 holes for mounting?
  • Nah, these were both OEM wheels. I want a Civic siR wheel, but damm they're bank!
  • I've found that most Honda steering wheels are interchangeable, strictly in that the mounting hole is the same diameter/spline count etc.

    There are several other concerns...
    1. Diameter...too big (specifically a 90-93 Accord)and there is suddenly a lot less room between the bottom of the wheel and the seat cushion. Tight fit for the legs and it can rub. Explain that chaffing to the significant other.
    2. Depth of the dish...too shallow (specifically a 88-91 Prelude) and you'll be banging your knuckles on the turn signal/wiper stalks everytime you turn. Leave other traffic guessing if you're really going to make that turn.
    3. Horn contact points are not all the same(early Integra, 90-91 I think)...which isn't a big deal until you wish you had a horn.

As for using an airbag equipped wheel...I personally don't like the bloated look. And adding an unnecessary explosive device to the interior of the car just sounds like a bad idea when you think about it. And yes, I realize that airbags, especially unconnected, are very safe...but I am a firm believer in Murphys Law.

    Damn that bastard murphey...
  • I've been saying forever that I'll eventually be able to justify one of these in the CRX:

As it stands, I have a Grant wheel in the wagon. And I keep telling myself I'll black out the lettering and replace the horn button with something better...but I haven't. Sorry for the angle of the wheel..I don't remember why I left it crooked.

The good thing about the Grant wheels is that they look pretty good(if you get one of the tasteful models) and they are reasonably inexpensive.

Actually, I like the thicker wheels. Especially after I install the swede cover on them.

You can use the 90-91 sedan steeringwheel that has the buttons on it allready. Not sure if you need the entire steering column just yet as I plan on puting in the CC too. All I have aquired so far is the actual wheel.
  • I went with an OBX wheel(40.00 new)+NKB hub(25.00). Under 100.00 for a cool well made copy. I'll have flixs up soon, but the best part is the mod I did with the horn button. I scanned in the RT4wd shifter graphics and made a horn button with it. I also have plans to do the same with my new shift knob.

    Thanks for the replies.

To the Swedish readers shifting uncomfortably in their chair, I too hope he meant suede.

this is old. but I think so. S2K and Insight are the same except Insight is more rare. less on the road and parted out, It is grey. s2k is black and leather.
