fuel injectors

i'm in need of some fuel injectors.

a friend of mine has offered a stock set in california, but doesn't know what from what year sohc civic.

before paying shipping, are all sohc d series fuel injectors the same?

if not, would they still work on d16a6?

thanks.

  • As far as i know, not all sohc injectors are the same. the d16a6 ones are saturated, and after that they switch to non saturated.

    a6 = resistor box
injectors from a z6 or b7 = no resistor box.
And the obd0 plugs are different than the obd1 ones.

    i guess they wont work.

I used A6 injectors in my DOHC ZC. So I'm sure you could find some other OBD-0 injectors at the salvage yard that will work in your A6.

    D16A1 or maybe B18A1?
  • Stock D16A6 Injectors are non-saturated, which means they have low impedance coils (1-4 OHMS) and require a resistor box. The resistor box reduces the current to the injector. They are also known as "Peak and Hold" because of the way the injector operates and the way the current is controlled.

Saturated injectors have high impedance coils (10-15 OHMS) and have a constant current going to the injector. These don't need a resistor box. This is typical in '92 and later.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

  • saturated non saturated.
the plugs are still different so they won't work without extra wiring.

(told ya i'd probly be wrong!)
  • It's easier to modify the plug than wire in different plugs. The only thing that makes the plugs different is one little tab on the injector that is easy to cut/file off. I'm using a6 injectors on my obd1 car with obd1 harness. Works great
  • Oops just realized you're going the other way. Plugs will still work, you just need to file/cut 2 tabs in the top corners of the obd1 injectors.
