Some of the roads in lacey are pretty bad, 35mph speed limit but i'm doing like 20 since the road is so bad. "Be patient, i'm scraping the ground for you"
Got some bad news..... Today I was driving and there was a giant piece of steel in the road. Long story short, I now have a hole in my oil pan, and a wagon with no oil.
Damn! That sucks man, I'm sorry to hear that. Like driftin90 said....any engine issues from low oil? I hope no permanent damage was done and that you can get back on the road soon. I remember once when I was 17 I had a VW Rabbit and I handbraked around a corner one night when it was wet out. Drifted a bit too far and went over a curb the long ways and smacked my oil pan hard. Cracked it right in half and leaked oil all the way home. A year or so later I was at a red light when all of a sudden it started revving super duper high and just pouring black smoke out of the tailpipe. It seemed to be screaming at around 12k RPM and it filled the whole intersection with smoke. We all jumped out of it because we thought it was going to explode or something. I remember my friend got stuck in the back seat cause no one put the seat forward and he was freaking out trying to get out, screaming and trying to crawl over the seats lol. Ended up that somehow oil ended up getting into the fuel line and it started burning a fuel/oil mix and went ape shit and blew up. So that's my Rabbit story.
Hahaha. That story cheered me up quite a bit. Picturing your friend in the back screaming. I only drove it a block to get it off the road, and then got it picked up by a flat bed. But now its sitting down at my dads work with a sad face. But it also made me look at my tires and make me realize I need an alignment.
So on Tuesday I'm ordering an oil pan from a salvage yard in Colorado. They said 65 bucks shipped. Didn't think it was a bad deal. Hopefully I have it replaced and get an alignment before the Seattle/Portland meet.
Nice, glad you found one! I hope you get things in order in time! You should reinforce this one with a metal plate like driftin90 mentioned to avoid this in the future. I wish I could weld.
Good news. I found a salvage yard in Colorado that had a 4wd oil pan. Ordered it this morning and they're sending it out tomorrow. Hopefully i have it on and get an alignment before the Portland/Seattle meet. I really really wanna go.
