OK I found this car in a salvage yard back in 2003 in a junkyard in GA. I seen it a few times when I went there for some other parts I needed, just never really thought that it would be a good car to pick up, also I wasn't really into CRX's. After I graduated high school and then went to tech school. I moved back here after a year of living in Wyoming and to my surprise the car was still there, in the same spot after two years. So I asked the owner about the car and he wasn't sure if he wanted to sell it or not so I waited it out. a month or two passed. One day he called me and said he would sell it to me but he needed the engine. OK, no problem. I get there and the car was on a fork lift. Me and a buddy then pulled the engine out and went into the office to make a deal. We ended up agreeing on $200 bucks. Well to make a long, long story short. I got a 1988 crx hf light blue in color for $200 that i had been eyeballing for three years. It sat in the front yard for about three months, before i finally figured out what to do with it. I came across a wrecked 89 hf and pulled the motor and stuck it in the 88 so I could sell it (by this time I had a EG hatch for a daily so i didn't need the CRX). Well I fell in love and sold the EG hatch instead. The crx stayed stock for 3 months. Then one day I was talking to my boss who knew some one with two DA Integras for $1000. Sweet, time to swap the crx. b18a1 stage one Crowler cams, ys1 tranny fun!!! Well then the clutch exploded. Instead of changing out the clutch I just bougt a GSR swap from a buddy for $800.
I drove the car with a GSR swap for about a year and a half, doing minor upgrades here and there. Then one day decided it was time for a full restoration and new power plant.
Sorry for the long story. Here are some pictures before, during and after.
What it looked like a few days before the final drive!
Disassembly
Rust is not a good sign!
Prior to the first paint job.
No for the rust repair and some slight body work.
Parts car!!
My buddy chris doing some welding!
Roof rust also!
Onto some bay work!
Back from the first painter! Looked like shit lots of ripples in the doors, sand scratches like crazy. Just an overall blah job!
Don't have any pictures from when I got it back from the second painter, but it looked amazing!
Onto the K swap
Front tow hooks do come in handy.
And more to come when not so tired! Have lots more pictures, before after and in between..
oh and sorry for the big azz pictures. Too much work too resize.

Is it with you in WA?
I have made the drive between Jacksonville, NC and Spokane twice in a year. Last time solo. I feel your pain
Why'd you move to WA?
really cool looking.
I see you are rocking the Efamily sticker
That EQ is just screaming at me... any more info. on that?
No i don't know much about it but I really liked it! I bought it at a CRX meet for like $30 and came with the surround/mount. Although it looks cool it doesn't work with the stock radio there is no plug in for it. I would like to find the correct radio for it.
Thanks yea a lot of money and blood sweat and tears went into this little guy!
Yea it was a long ass drive. I've done it before but never in a car without heat in the winter time! lol
I moved to help take care of my Dad who was up here. But Unfortunately he passed back in Nov. Now I just sit around with no job bored off my ass. Blah I hate it. I'm the type of person that always has to have something to do.
Other than praising you for your awesome car like everyone else all I have to say is.... NO safety goggles when grinding!! You are a brave man!
we live in merica! we dont need to safety equipment!!
Makes me miss my CRX w/ an H22A. I bet that K swap just screams.
I'm sure I've ran across this build on another forum. Never get tired of over looking at it though. An amazing build in my opinion!
Here is an updated pic.
These wheels are for the wagon just on the CRX for an upcoming meet since the new CRX wheels are being built.
Thanks dude!! I'm diggin your wagon looks pretty sweet. Can't wait to setup a wagon meet!
