  • the rear glass should be pretty easy. IF you remove the interior trim pieces it is either going to have some nuts on the back that you take off and then push it out while pulling up the glue/urethane. Or they may be straight urethane'd in which means you need a razor knife and just cut the urethane out till you can get the glass out. i have not actually taken any out of a wagon but i am basing my thoughts on previous experience with other cars quarter glass.

I'm going to try this soon, as PorterWagoneer is missing one. We'll let you know what we find.

if it is urethane only bam, they make a tool that you plug into your compressor and it vibrates a metal arm and it just zips right through the urethane.....see about looking into it if you think you'll be doing it in the future.

ive taken windows out @ the junkyard by getting a small section of the glue stuff cut by forcing an old steak knife into the channel slicing slowly in about 4-6 inch section, then i would cut out the hood release and take 1 strand of the internal cable out and slip it into the 4-6 inch hole now with the help of another person both will saw back and forth KEEPING CABLE away from the glass as best u can ....

window will b out n now time ....

 NEVER INSTALLED a window before ...... !!!!!!

cant help on that one sorry ... :(

, but used heat to melt through the urethane. Took 5 minutes to do both windows prying with a screwdriver.
  • totally forgot about windshield wire. works best if you get a spot opened and then tie both ends to the closed end of a wrench so you have something to hold on to and not cut yourself lol.

I've used the hood latch cable method to remove a CRX quarter window at the junkyard.
  • I just got a rear 1/4 glass and will be installing it soon on my 89 Wagon. The current glass in there right now is a piece of plexi glass that the previous owner glued in. I'll post pics when I get a chance. I may just have a windshield repair company do it, if it looks sketchy.
