How to remove the rear seat back pivot bracket from the floor/body?
Comments
However, still can not figure out how take the mount brackets out of the car. Each bracket has one bolt and one stud/rivet? I've removed the bolts from each bracket but can not find an access point to get to the nut that has to be threaded onto the stud - if it is a stud. Looks as if the nut would be inside what would be the frame of the car if it had a frame; box section.
If it is a rivet how was it bucked? Again. no access.
Richard suggests drilling the rivet/stud out. I can do that & then weld a stud in place so that I will have to remove a bolt and a nut the next? time I do this.
Getting obsessive about cleaning the car. And I still haven't done anything about getting it through emissions so I can get a tag. Cart before the horse.
Hopefully this is a picture of the bracket with the mystery rivet? If not, I would not want to be held responsible for the end of the civilized (wagovan) world.
Last time I took a picture there was gun powder in the flash bar.....
I said mine aint like that.
I had to look online to give suggestions on how to get the seat out.
It does not show how to get the brackets out though.

Technology is just to fast for me, sort of like "Trying to reason with hurricane season."
fixed
here you go
Have you tried a set of vice grips on that part.
Try twisting it.

Tried a bigger pair of vice grips & more torque today. Threaded rivet head stud backed right out. Nut is welded in / under floor pan.
Thnx Richard!
Still puzzled as to why honda would do that that way.
Learning to love more & more my wagovan!
