    I don't think it's been tried yet.

I'm 99% sure Jaker said no.

Might rummage through his posts to confirm.... but again, I'm 99% sure they're different.
  • as far as i know, the RT transmission gearing is FAR different than any other civic transmission and nothing fits inside it. i just had mine apart and it looks far different than any other i've had apart.
  • The shafts that the gears ride on (mainshaft and countershaft) are much larger than the parts in the EF EG and EK FWD trannies. The gears use larger bearings and sleeves, etc... However, they're not a match for B Series parts either. The only one that I'm not sure about is the possibility that they might be a match for the 1st gen Integra (86-89) parts, as they are a beast all their own.

www.car-part.com lists quite a few manual transmissions for a '91 4WD Civic around the country, so I'd just get a new one if you're not far from one of the places or could have it shipped. I had to replace the one in mine years ago when the drive gear for the rear driveshaft shattered. You could also use one from an earlier year if you change the clutch. They changed the number of splines at some point.

Don't forget, when you start messing around with trannies you never know what you'll find.

Bad joke, anyways so are the RT4WD gears actually bigger? If not they could be machined to fit correct? Honestly I'd just get another RT trans and smile.
  • thanks for the info guys
