D16A6 Automatic? (1990 Civic EX Sedan)

I'm about to purchase a pretty clean 1990 EX sedan with 196,000 miles on it. It has an automatic transmission. Is it the same auto that the D15B2 came with?
I'd like to know so I can know what to do if it decides to die on me. Seems like a D16A6 automatic would be kind of rare.
I know it's not a wagon, but I hope an EF lover will have some kind of insight on this.

You wont have a problem.
But, I think I am going to contact HMO and see if they can get a SOHC ZC automatic just to see if that is possible too.
Unlike Honda Accords and older Odysseys, the civics didnt have seperate TCMs(transmission control modules). They are controlled by the ECU.
Regardless, you wont have a problem. I assure you.
90-91 Honda stepped up the sedans to a 1.6 auto, but they used the same auto-trans and gear ratios as the 1.5.
The 1.6 just made them a little peppier.
The auto trans is not controlled through a TCM, like ^he said. Honda used a PS9 ECU, with has the trans control built in.
The PS9 ecu are kinda hard to come by nowadays, because they have been used for OBD0 VTEC conversions, you just use the trans shift signal to engage the VTEC.
EXs had:
14" Alloy rims
PW, PS, PL
A/C
AM/FM Tape player
Cruise
Bigger front brakes
Dual exhaust tips like the Si's

They are pretty rare nowadays... If you get it, don't screw it up!
If it has the factory Alloys... Sell them to me for my OEM Collection... They are just 14's
Depending on condition... I might offer to trade you my Clean 89 DX Hatch that you used to want..
I would love to own all the Honda EF 1.6 Models..
I own a CRX Si 1.6, Hatch Si 1.6 & Wagon RT 1.6... I am just missing the Sedan EX 1.6 & I prefer auto...
