B18b1 Question..?

Alright. Hi everybody.. I got a 1991 Honda civic wagon with a d16y8 in it, and I was wondering since I got the obd2 to obd1 conversion will the b18b1 just plug and play..? Can anybody steer me in the direction of what I would need..?

    That will not plug in.
Your car is obd0, not obd1.
The motor you purchased is obd2, I assume?

Regardless, you need to adapt your obd0 engine harness to the b18b. This will include changing injector plugs, distributor plugs, alternator plug, and a few others.

Then you will need to get an obd1-0bd0 jumper harness. This will allow you to plug an obd1 ecu into your obd0 car. It doesnt matter if your motor is obd1 or obd2, you will want to use an obd1 ecu. The jumper harness will include the wires that you need to run for the 4 wire o2 sensor.

    Thats about it.

I got all that done already.. I have everything wired up already plugs and everything.. Running a d16y8 obd2 to obd1 conversion.. Since all my plugs and everything are hooked up. Cant I just get a b18b1 and plug it in.. The only difference would be the vtec wires.. Write..?

I would say yes, you should be pretty close. I'm a little confused as to what kind of 'obd2 conversion' you have.

As am I. Im assuming someone already adapted the engine harness to obd2 and then he probably has an obd0-obd1 jumper harness.

If that is correct, then for the most part, if he gets an obd2 b18b1, it should plug in(may have to extend a few wires). Then he will need an obd1 p75.

Okay thanks.. Obd2 is what the d16y8 is.. Like you guys said my car is obd0.. I got everything setup to obd1 so the motor would run in my car.. Kool.. Thanks for the info.. Sorry if I confused you on the way I wrote..

No problem man. Good luck with the swap. :)
  • everything will be plug and play besides the vtec...im assuming your getting the distributor with the ls long block...the y8 one wont work...and if its straight ls non v change the ecu to a p75..
