We just keep going deeper and deeper... no point in doing it, if you're not gonna do it right the first time. Might as well do it the way I want, and not the way I think would be easiest to cover up some blemishes. Ya feel me?
im watching how u repair Nancy so Scrappy can get the same sort of blemish cream....!!
Got a lot done last week. Stalled over the last few days due to real job and some problems getting new rear fenders.
The first place and the main parts recycler in Spokane changed their policy on cutting metal in the yards. Luckily there was another wagon at a small yard in town. The one I grabbed the rear bumper and hatch from. We got there at 5 on Monday, to find they close at 4. Fail.
After arriving today, we also found out that they had planned to crush the wagon tonight (it's been there for 2 years btw). Which means it's been crushed by now. Luckily we got there first, and they let us do our thing. So lucky with timing!
I'm more of an electronics and mechanics sort of guy. So learning fabrication and bodywork is a whole new language. Thankfully KKR is the man, and is teaching me along the way. I supervised this quarter panel removal lol
I had to work tonight. So KKR went and picked up Nancy from the shop where I do most of my work, and took it to his shop where the tools needed to swap the metal are...
Got a lot of stuff to do- but we're dedicated to getting it done VERY fast. We've got other cars to start working on
We are gaining on her. I know with all the changes from the original plan it looks like we are behind. We will get her done and hopefully impress many.
Bill when you coming up to the house to shoot picks up there? I am sure charb will get everyone pics tonight while we start the sheet metal transfer.
I can take pix when ever... Let me know when its picture time...... Also I would love to slide my wheels into the paint booth while Charb wagon gets painted??
I say it's picture time all the time. The rust on this one seems to be extremely similar to what I think I'll have to fuss with on mine. The more pictures the better I'll be equipped to tackle my first time doing a legitimate rust repair.
Only had a couple hours to work tonight. But did some work.
Started like this...
Cut out our first portion... seems like a lot, because it is lol
Perceived to be a major source of the dirt in my interior, some patches needed to be made in the wheel well. Before we start to weld the new fender in...
6 flat, different shaped pieces that were jigsawed together to patch this portion. Not finished with this part yet. But didn't get much further before calling it a night.
Hopefully get a lot done over the next few days. Timeline is screwed because we are replacing the rear fenders. But in the long run I'm gonna end up with a greater finished product than the original plan, which was to cover the rust with rhino liner and flares (as cool as it may be, not what I want for my daily driver!).
TOTALLY kidding about scrapping it! lol I'll probably keep this car forever after all of this work. It's only grey interior and a K swap away from being the perfect car haha
But this picture here is the last you're gonna get until she's done... I've got less than two weeks to have it completely done. I'm going to focus on the task at hand. And not at the task of updates. I'm going to continue taking a lot of pictures that I'll post in two weeks when she's back on the road. That way I'll have a bit more time to write as well.
I've just got so much little shit to do on top of the obvious big shit. I've just decided to check out for the next two weeks to focus on Nancy.
Sub-leasing the composite shop. And the new tenants move in on the 15th. It's by far the cleanest place we can come up with to paint it. At least until we get our own shop. It just has to be back on the road asap as my loaner is dying too.

doubt fuels me
I change my mind twice a day at least on what exactly I'm gonna do with the car. The more I work on it, the cleaner I want it.
Breaking out the torches tomorrow
I'm working all weekend... so I won't see her until Monday...
But, decided to rip out out all of the interior for a deep clean...
Breathing this shit can't be good lol

Says the guy who I've been waiting to get pics from for the last two months....
No more updates here until it's done. Always a chance I'll scrap this bitch...
DIBBS on drivetrain! if you choose to scrap the bitch of course
