lol seriously, that stuff blows. Waste of $7.

But it was the only pic I took last night. I'll hopefully be finishing up tonight or tomorrow. I'll take more when I'm done.
  • which stuff? the degreaser? go to your local home depot and get some of the purple stuff....dont ask me what it costs but its the shit. Buy the big jug of it. It's meant to be mixed with water, but fuck that. use it straight and kill the grease. i'll try to get the exact name for you, i use the stuff for everything!

and if you're looking to strip them...aircraft stripper...also works great. either in rattle can form or 1gal. jug (but you have to brush it on)

Finished up the wheels over Christmas. Wish I could have found a better match for the H on the cap. I made two trips to Hobby Lobby and used three different colors to get this one, being the closest match. Might see if I can get some stickers made (#BillBoard) that match the wheel color. We'll see. Trying not to get ahead of myself on this attempt. I'm looking to powder coat come summer. But I do love the color combo!

Should have the car registered this week. Didn't want to fork out cash for the needed exhaust/emissions/tax right before Christmas. Should have that taken care of this week. Then next week I can start cleaning up the body a bit

    ;)

I got pissed off tonight and did more black to cover the H lol

Might leave them black if I don't come up with something soon...

I think they look super cool! Why don't you just mask off the H and use the same paint?

Honestly I don't think I can do a good enough masking job for the finish I want :|

Also, I used wheel paint. Not sure about adhesion to plastic. Maybe someone can enlighten me...?

I did pick up some grey and blue paint colors as well. Thought I may try and blend the two to try and get a color close to the color of the car. I would do this with the 'bronze' but I'm not certain what I would mix it with. The color I used last was 'copper'. It looked good in the bottle and the chart at the store. But once it dried it still looked gold.
  • You can get your car color mixed up in a rattle can. If I remember correctly it wasn't terribly expensive either.

As far as wheel paint to plastic, I don't see why it wouldn't stick? I'd suggest scuffing the bare plastic and using a plastic adhesion promoter so the paint sticks really well.
  • I'm sure there's an NCS somewhere in Spokane. (National coating solutions I believe is what it stands for). They sell paint, supplies, etc. I'd go there to see about having them match it to the color code and mix it in a aerosol can for you. I think its only like $8/can, but don't quote me on that as its been years since I've bought one.
  • nice wheels . what kind of paint you use? .. if its just can spray you can spray the paint in something like a bowl and then use a small paint brush to fill it in
  • niiiiiiiiiiice! love the fancy color scheme
  • charb, do this:

An $80 investment from harbor freight, chemo for your car!

All you have to lose is some arm hairs and possibly your vision...:::fumes are fun too:::....

You guys missed the part about not wanting to tape off the H ;)

I actually tried this. But the paint separates really really bad when you do this. That's why I didn't use it this way.

Thanks for lookin out guys. I'll get it sorted out this week. I want to have them on next week... doing emissions today. Wish me luck!
  • dont be a hoe. just mask it off and use a blade/exacto knife to cut the H out
