  84-87 Civic Wagon / Shuttle
  In the US it came with a 1.5L carbed SOHC engine, 76hp
  Overseas it came with an available 1.5i fuel injected motor, 91hp, called the 55i if I recal.
  
  It came as a Front wheel drive vehicle, and in 85-86 came with available pushbutton 4WD using a switch, solenoid, and electronic and vacuum controls to engage an actual driveshaft to engage the rear wheels. On demand push button 4WD.
  
  In mid 86 to 1987, it was switched to an automatic system, no switch. When the front wheels lose traction, drive is transmited to the rear wheels temporarily to assist.

  USDM engine was the EW1, which was given a D-series code in 1987. I think the injected JDM engine was the EW5. Both were CVCC engines.
  
  1984-85 had recessed sealed beams, 1986-87 had flush headlamps.
  
  2WD and 4WD had different bellhousing bolt patterns. 2WD shared the bolt pattern of the other 1984-87 Civics and CRXs, while the 4WD shared its bolt pattern with the 1986-89 Integra.
