what to do??***(hit my traction bar)***

hey guys i ran into a problem and would like to get some of your opinions on how to approach fixing my issue...first off let me say i didnt do this, my brother hit my car when i let him borrow it. my car was at the lowest setting that my coilovers would let me go so it was pretty low and he didnt slow down enough and hit some railroad tracks...ok on to the pics

as you can see the frame is supposed to be parallel with the ground...which its clearly not...im just planning on putting back the stock crossmember and radiator but my question is what is the best approach to straighten the frame rail back so i can mount my crossmember....i have no bodywork experience which is why i ask...should i just take it to a body shop??...if so how much am i looking at??

  • That looks like a Innovative front crossmember which sits really low to begin with. I had that on my wagon for less than a full day before I realized it was just way too low to have on a lowered wagon.
At this point it looks like strictly a body shop/frame repair shop matter. The nut that goes welded behind the frame looks to be tearing out as well. I don't think even the stock crossmember will bolt on anymore.
Try taking it to a local reputable body shop for a free estimate on what the repairs will cost. The good news is that I've seen worse damage repaired successfully. I recommend the Full-Race traction bar after you repair the damage. It sits much higher and is a pretty solid unit. Good luck.

yea it is an innovative bar (first gen)...i was planning on purchasing the second gen bar because it sits a little higher...i would love to buy the full race bar but its a little too pricey for my budget right now which is why im ultimately gonna put the stock crossmember back on with a full size radiator...i noticed your in la too, would you happen to know of any reputable body shops around here??...and do i have to take it to a specific body shop??...im not sure if all body shops have frame pullers and stuff like that, then again im not too familiar with body shops in general
  • I lived in Alhambra most of my life and there is a body shop on Main St. almost directly across from the Edwards movie theater on Main/Atlantic (next to the carwash). I believe its called something "Coachworks". They do pretty decent work and are reasonably priced.
