Broken pedal assembly, how to make it stronger?

Last week my clutch pedal got damaged, the pedal assembly is bend/broken.

I've already got a new pedalbox and now i want to reinforce it so it won't break down again..
Has somebody done this before? Maybe some tips or tricks?

I've reinforced and repaired several of them. Weld the cluch pedal axle to the firewall bracket. It's hard to explain, let me look for a picture...
  • I welded mine together very thick. It was broken and I really didn't want to remove it. It didn't come out looking all "pro" but it WORKED!!! Not only did I save myself a boat load of labor but I made sure it wont happen again!

I suspect itll eventually break again. Mine broke twice before I replaced it with a 91 Crx Si pedal assembly. They are much beefier in comparison and the pivot point is more towards the front on the assembly. It was beefier than the EF hatch assembly I had as well. It changed the throw a tad but it only took a day or so to get used to it.
