Operation Siberian Thundah!!!!

Well I finally got a wagon!!!!!!!!!!!

My parents surprised me with the car for my birthday weekend!!!! They spent my money though lol. It is an auto 1990 rt4wd with 285xxx on the odometer. I love this thing!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the perfect dd for me just like I thought. Picked it up for $1500 so it has a bunch of tiny problems but it isn't anything I can't fix over time.

I will update this thread with my build plans and better pictures tomorrow.

    Another blue one!! Congrats man!
  • nice birthday persent. oem fog lights to nice come up. gotta love mom & dad
  • Thanks guys, it is a birthday present to myself. I can't wait to start fixing all of the small things on it and doing my thing with it.
  • ahhh ya!!!
  • Thats awesome. Tell you peeps thanks, wish someone got one for me.
  • To be clear, I bought the car. My parents did get a few things for it for my birthdat though. It was a nice surprise to walk into my dorms parking lot and see my basket on top of a wagon. I will post more pictures and a small build description later today, I'm in an engineering class right now lol.
  • Which class? I'm studying for my dynamics test thats tomorrow haha. Shouldn't be too bad I'm thinking
  • It is just a beginners cad class. Easy and fun.

So the plan for the wagon is as follows.

These thoughts are still a work in progress seeing that I have no money.

    Exterior
    Bull Bar
    Arctic Camo Paint
    Interior
    Stock
    Roof
    Yakima Loadwarrior (own)
    Yakima Loadwarrior 18” Extension (own)
    2 Yakima Axe/Shovel Mounts (own)

    Engine/Tranny
    Stock
Boso Exhaust wrapped in redbull cans (I am openly stealing another members ideas here lol)
    Suspension
DA Integra Rear Struts and Springs (own)
CB7 Accord Front Struts and Springs
DA Integra Aftermarket Rear Lower Control Arms
    Wheels/Tires
Diamond Racing Steelies 15x10 w/ 2” backspacing (te he)
    265/75/r15

I want to lift it and get a wrangler look going. Don't quote me on the wheel size lol. That was me being ambitious.

  • MAN that basket is awesome! I'm loving the plans you have laid out. Should be a beast!
  • Thanks man, I can't wait to get started. I need to start fixing small things too though. I need the rear headrests to start. lol
  • I still need to purchase my basket. We r gonna have matching wagons pretty Much! But I won't have a crazy paint job and idk what I wanna do for wheels. I want to do a different bikerwith a brush guard or something different than a bull bar
  • What I really want to do is bulletproof the auto tranny and boost it. 250whp or something like that in this car would be a blast. This won't happen for a long ass time though seeing that my big money is still going into the prelude at the moment.
  • ya same here the lude is a never ending project. I have an engine build I want to do for the wagon but its nothing too crazy at all
  • Alright guys I am wondering what you think of these two camo prints. The reason I got a wagon is because they are perfect for me where I live in the winter. The build was dubbed operation siberian thundah because I just want to drive around in the snow a lot. haha

So I decided to go with a snow theme and get some arctic camo going on. Which of these do you like more?

And if you don't like the idea, oh well I guess. lol

  • I thought you were going to go with the original white, grey, and black camo pattern.

    Edit: Like this

  • I was but that is a bit played out and I can't find a cheap way of doing that well. lol

Not to say that still isn't a possibility. I just found that site and they make good and well priced stuff.

    Arctic digi-camo!
  • ^ That is another option. I like all of the winter camo schemes but the pricing of the vinyl is the tough part.
  • Here is a shot of some of it installed.

  • What do you guys think of this? I kind of fell in love with it.

  • Love it might do something similar

That EG hatch look dope in digital camo!
  • I feel like smaller squares or more white would make that look better. For someone who didnt know it was digi camo they could think its just a shitty pattern.

I really do like the digi camo though. i feel like i have kind of been shooting down ideas but I can just picture this sick wagon in my head and I want it to look legit. So when its famous I can be like i know him! haha
  • i like the artic realtree stuff, how much is it gonna run ya to wrap the whole car?

    Yah it does!!!

lol I kind of thought about it and if this build goes like I plan it to, this car could be one of those internet wonders lol. First I need money though.

It depends on what vinyl I choose and I have to measure out the car. The realtree costs $480 for 120sqft. The arctic camo pattern costs $100 for a 72"x48" sheet, and I don't know about the digi camo yet.

I really want to rebuild my tranny and swap a fresh d16 in asap though. I will be contacting levelten to see if they can bulletproof the auto rt4wd tranny for me and I want to do a small turbo build. 250whp is the goal. Then once that is all done I can start saving for the BIG build for the prelude (500wtq). The wagon is meant to be a dd so I am going to try and keep it lower cost. Although I can see $12,000 being spent pretty quickly once I get some cash flow.
  • not sure how i feel about this. but i deff wana see pics when your done
  • Started fixing some things that are within my means seeing that I don't have any tools here at school.

Did the cabinet knob mod on my broken rear seat tabs.

Also installed a WSU license plate frame.

I am picking up some 4wd rear mudflaps off of a member soon and getting some rear headrests as well. The car didn't come with either.

Sorry for the shitty picture quality, the camera I normally use is back home so the iphone4 is as good as it gets for a while.
  • I was also wondering what the deal is with the oem fogs. Apparently they are rare lol. Can someone tell me about them? I want to replace the broken one and get these working.
