the part i respect is the fact its just straight metal. or else they painted rust on there. lol.
any douche could do it with body filler and a file, but manipulating metal like that, and it looking clean after, is impressive.
wouldn't you just have to wipe it with a rag soaked with stripper and let it eat threw the clear coat and paint. then expose it to moisture???
Dont think body filler/plastic can rust
Means that the mods were all done in metal with no body filler (very impressive), unless it is painted to look like rust, then it could be filled with paper mache for all we know
Not much good to say about it, hellaflush look = wack and useless, VW looking wheels look cheap, VW style of rusting car is horrible, lowrider pin stripes just don't look good on the wagons bodylines, ONLY thing good about it is great body work
Paint and finish
Typical "rough" finish of Rat Rods.
Almost by definition, rat rods appear unfinished, with primer-only paint jobs at most. Satin or matte black and other flat colors are also common. Other finishes may include “natural patina” (the original paint with rust, blemishes, and sometimes bullet holes left intact), a patchwork of original paint and primer, or bare metal with no finish at all in rusty or oiled varieties, honoring the anti-restoration slogan that "it's only original once". Many rat rods also have free hand pinstriping done by the owners with a pinstriping brush. Contrary to tastes of many car builders, rust is often acceptable and appreciated by a rat rodder.
