So I ended up getting all the parts to do the mpfi swap. I had to build the injection harness. Got everything installed and found that the car was missing bad. So bad that gas was coming out of the tail pipe. Found that the #3 injector was leaking thanks to my lovely assistant. Replaced the injector, timed the car and set the idle and hear she is.65.jpg66.jpg67.jpg Still waiting on some parts, breather tube and some coolant lines.

I also have been doing some work on my parts guys car, on the side  . He wanted to pay me, but I gave him a challenge. I told him to find a hood bra. 2 weeks later he gave me this new in the box.68.jpgI do have the lower part but with the lip it does not fit.

It pulls between 4 to 5 1/5 k. All around more power. Does not take some much to get the car moving.

I hear that on the mpfi. Even with my timing off still runs way better then dpfi.
Sounds like your swap went butter smooth compared to mine.
Wish I could say the same thing but should have mine hopefully tuned correctly this weekend after I found out the crapy dizzy I bought was causing issues.

My swap didn't go that smooth, went through, about a 1/4 tank of gas with the leaking fuel injector, then found out the bearing in the dizzy was shot.(came apart) Luck ally flat6fanatic had an extra dizzy. Still need one. :? Its a big change, but a good one.
Its also hard to tell what is normal when you change everything on an engine with used parts. :D

Ok so some updates. I picked up a complete turbo set up for next to nothing,( sub and amp and intake) Its a t25 turbo and Garrett manifold, no name inter-cooler, 400 injectors, piping and piggy back ecu. Flat six sold me a obd1 dizzy, d16a6 engine and a p28 ecu with the sst chip. The plan is a d16y8 head and a d16a6 bottom end. I had the crank and flywheel balanced and the block got decked and bored .25 over. So new pistons and rings crank and rod bearings. Im thinking arp head studs? dont know what i want to do with the head, any ideas? I was thinking crowler cam and valve springs with the retainers?

gret deal. that'll spool up fast! yes to arp. can't wait to see it. when do you think it will be done? doing a cruise to olympia july 21st. i also told zaza tonight. hopefully you guys have that day off.
  • nsticenstice Wagonist
If everything goes smooth maybe mid July or sooner. Have to look and see if I work that day. Is it a show?

Have got some updates, had a hitch made and a small trailer. 855.jpg856.jpg857.jpg The trailer has 91 rear stub axles.

Looking great man, digging the trailer. Need to find a hitch for mine I think.

You'll like the T25 if you like quick response. I've got a T25 and similar setup on my D16Z6 in my car, and it spools very quickly. I have boost around 1900rpm I believe, and full boost by 2600 or so. (Full boost in my case is 12psi)

Thanks and Thanks.Yes it is oem painted, it is easy to install. Its a 91 da sway bar 4 door. You will need 1 inch spacers where it bolts to the lower arms.
what do you mean 1 inch spacers, What the part that bolts to the frame. I have an 89 crx si rear sway bar setup id like to install on my wagon is it really that easy.

I cant wait! I got the block back from the shop today, bored .25 over, so new pistons, and rings. I also got the bottom end all together. The head is in the shop now, they said it needs a full rebuild. I got Brian Crowler springs and retainers coming, arp head bolts. Cant decide on a cam or ss valves? Also found out the Head and bottom end combo bumps the compression 10.3 I think? d16a6 y8 head. So to boost or not to boost? That is the question.

I dont know about the si one, But the da one I have was easy. The bar does not reach the lca's, so i got longer bolts and a spacer from ace hardware. Big difference!

Some updates, Got Brian Crowler springs, and bloxs stainless valves on the way. Here are some picks of the bottom end put together.195.jpg196.jpg197.jpg

So clean and shiny. Wish there was such thing as clear casings.
  • your wagon is really pretty perfect for a daily drive in my book, stock motor, good suspension, mild lowering, rack and hitch+trailer utility... makes me miss my brown wagon and 35 mpg!
really like it man, wheels look nice too!
