carbon wrapped rear spoiler

just thought I'd show you guys my rear spoiler that I wrapped with 3m di-noc. it did take some work around the edges but overall I think it turned out great. took about 2 hrs and this is my second attempt. first one had all sorts of wrinkles around the ends. not too bad for $15 and some time.

Excellent attention to the details! Did you find the film locally or order it online?

thanks man. I got it on ebay. I believe I got a 24x48 sheet but there are tons of different sizes and manufacturers. I got the 3m brand. I just knew it wasn't going to happen on the first go around. that's why I bought enough to try it twice. the end corners are a bitch. that's what took most of the time. I just used a hair dryer and you can see it soften to help stretch it around.
  • hell yea where did u order the wrap from?
  • like the wrap on the wing man ive been lookin for somethin cool to do with mine and i like the look.
  • Dude, that looks sweeeeet! Nice work.

  • i had a friend at my work wrap my rear spoiler in carbon and i think it looks good. i was gonna do a burberry pattern myself and the material i got off ebay was garbage.

Looks nice and good work. Bit tricky to put on sometimes.
  • Nice work!
  • Really cool. looks sweet.
  • you should put a clear coat on it to give it that deep realistic look
  • looks very good. i was just opening my hatch today and thought. hmmmm self i wish this rear hatch was lighter. a c/f rear hatch with lexan glass would to the trick.

that is awesome, any pictures of the underside by chance? i would love to do this but modify the spoiler maybe give it some more shape and definition.

sorry I don't have a pic of it anymore. the underside is tucked up to the line(in the second pic, you can kinda see that line that goes all the way around), maybe about 1/4in. just took a razor and trimmed it to that line all the way around.

    awesome thanks for the tips!
  • x2 on the clear coat...hopefully you prepped the heck out of it so there won't be bubbles in the future
  • Sweet little mod, not a fan of carbon fiber much but I like that.
  • Nice job... where can i get the how-to info??? would love to do a fender...
