Lakay's Slow build thread. JDM Beagle Shuttle ef5

Wagonist
Hey everyone. Been really envy on other's build thread so might aswell make one? Its my first build thread so bare with me.
So history,
I had a 1990 Toyota Celica gt long ago and had it about 4 months and sold it as it gave me so much headache. leaking sunroof, not too much power
Saved up and manage to buy a NZ New Ek1 with d16y8 engine on it. nothing special for the first year just lowering, work rsb rims and etc, and boom, key on the crank pulley gave up leaving damage on the crank shaft pulley mount. Lucky i saved up before the trouble and bought a b18cr engine from a guy from nzhondas.com who used the engine from Honda Motul Cup. Drove the car as a my daily and it was hard to drive a car with a gearbox designed for track in a road.
So i decided to buy a good run around. Bought a NZ new eg5 but wasnt really satisfied as i see a lot of eg around here in new zealand that were waaay too "flush". So i decided (again) to buy this JDM Shuttle Beagle as i wanted an old school type as my daily and im sick of two door car lol. Shuttle/wagovan/beagle here in nz are pretty "rare". I mean not much are into setting up their shuttle here in nz.
so here was my shuttle when i got it (excuse the pics as i just copied it to the seller's listing). ALL STOCK aside from aftermarket radio. really tidy and taken good care off. traveled about 120kms and didnt let it go.
Sick of the ride height as my mates was teasing it as a family van. so i was "kinda" pressured and bought a D2 adjustable coilovers, front and rear strut bars, c-pillar and a JBL sub and amplifier. (sorry no pics for the struts and in-car audio). And also, went for a ski trip so might aswell change the Engine Oil and Filter, Gearbox Oil, Rear Diff Oil and bought some ski racks.
(it scrapes of the driveway so ride height will stay atm, but can still sack down about 1-2 inches)
d2 adjusties
removed the fog lamps as i wanted to paint em up.
the oil stuff
jacked up. with my mate's eg6 d16y engine turbo. he's planning to make it "spoon style". on the far end, my eg5 sitting on off-street.
while changing rear diff oil, found out there's a small pin hole of fuel tank leak. still searching for a good solution for this. hope someone will help me out? hehe. thanks for looking.

me and the gf
minion on board
put the fog lamps again to help me drive at night
One thing ive noticed from lots of shuttles these days are the really shit clear coat on the bonnets (And usually roofs too), starting to wonder if I'm lucky with mine or if it was resprayed?
Any future plans?
i know green rims are not everyones cup of tea. but as Russel Peter's dad says. TAKE IT, AND GO
Filipino Mates lined up. We call our club as "PCCNZ" (Pinoy Car Club New Zealand)
managed to get a volvo 940/5 front lip and CHEAP!! really happy with it. and an old school civic for my rear lip.
mean van. also gave at least 5kgs (i think) of deep fried chicken?
RAWR! one of my fav cars around here in auckland
JTUNE equipped
s2000's engine bay.
actually, i really liked them! just gonna paint them up coz its pealing off. And yea, bonnet/hood and roof were peeling off. tried buffing it at work and that's the best it can get. im still thinking if ill just repaint the bonnet/hood or get a CF to Hare if he got one?
plans.
dont know. hahaha. maybe another set of shoes? wider and lower offset. atm its a 15x7 dont know the offset yet.
and um, fix the fuel leak and lastly (not really last) tint the windows.
Before you tint the rear window, see if you can do the EF spoiler mod, I'm just doing one at the moment and it's actually looking pretty cool. But I guess you wont need one with a high stop light like me, but you can get ones with no stop light.
I'm just trialling it at the moment, will update in my thread how it looks and how I did it
sweet. ill see how you go first. haha. im thinking about doing that aswell coz i saw this ef civic at pickapart the other day and looks like the spoiler is pretty sweet.
goodluck in fitting you'r spoiler bro.
thank you
Wagon looks good, really good.
actually, it came from my eg5 when i bought it. took it out and put it here. never had a chance to paint them. im still thinking what color will really suits with the beagle
how come?
thank you i reckon it need moaaar low and spacers.
hey mate. how did your spoiler go?
hey mate. how did your spoiler go?
I have a crv wing on my silver wagon, it is about half way down page 5 of my thread
yeah. i havent had the chance to lower it coz im still waiting for a good set of tyres to put on my mags. lol. and im currently preparing my ek for NIMM. ill hav a look at that crv wing, coz theas this cheap as rear wing from ef i saw on trademe. lol.
if i will do this, i need to take off the "beagle" plastic thing on the rear to make place for the ef hatch wing. yea, looks like drilling onto the hatch boot hurts and no turning back once you drill a hole into it. lol.
I'm attaching it to the plastic "beagle" thing, actually looks pretty good. Just looks like it's slightly raised or something. Might have to take a picture... or better yet... test fit the thing Will have to do a mini write up on my build if it seems to work well.
i have no idea dude. no writings at the back. it just says 15x7 and some numbers that i could read properly. lol
nop. its not gsr blades.
Either way they look awesome
found the name. its Rays Huhrer / Vesta Sebring
bought new shoes. enkei 16x7 mags with +32 (i think)
replaced thermostat for an oem one. engine never gets hot and gets very cold even on a motorway runs.
rolled the guards/fenders to reduce rubbing
lowered it a bit moaar.
will post pictures once i clean the beagle.
question: will an ef9 rear sway bar will fit directly to ef5 4wd beagle? thoughts/ideas? thank you!
