I'm getting ready to urethane all of my mounts, I guess... Most of them are cracked to some extent, and I have 2+sets.

I'm glad we're on page 2 at last! The 267 photos on page one make my poor old computer hurt.
  • AbideAbide Council Member
I know 3rd4ce was looking into a universal replacement for the diff mount one. mine is literally cracked all the way through so you can push one of the "spokes" or whatever out to the side. and omg can you ever feel it too

Question for you gents I have a set of integra LS meshies that need refinishing. I'm way on the fence for colors. This will be my daily set of wheels with some 205/50/15s on them

I'm considering a flat black, white, semi gloss black with a gold lip and painting the centercaps with a gold H so they would match the mud flaps. I just have no idea what's gonna look really good on brown.

    Ideas?

sorry folks on crappy internets. Im back with more pics! Currently posting from New Orleans. Apparently there was a Saint's game tonight and there will be LSU game Monday, but that's not what im here for. I left the wagon at home and brought the S2000 to the very first AutoX at the brand new 7+ acre lot at New Orleans Motorsports Park. Are you jealous? GOOD, thats what you get for bam-bam texting me the damn wagon meet picture. Now that we're on equal terms of jealousy.......on with the pics!

nothing special today really just went and picked up my packages from Old Skool and Gasoline Fumes. Got some beautiful speaker pods(recovered this week i hope in something to match my interior. probably the same brown houndstooth as my headliner.) And Fumes sent me some beautiful corner lights. Finally all working and no cracked headlights when i get home!

    187.jpg

At the junkyard i found a FULL set, yes even the spare, of bottle caps! BOOM!

    188.jpg

FIVE! I'm thinking refinished in white after puttying up some cracks? Should look kind of rally style?

and last but not least something somewhat unique. Beauty rings? I found them on accord.
Probably going to polish them up real nice with my dremel to make it look like my steelies have a lip lol.

    189.jpg

that's all for today folks. More pics later of the pods and lights installed. And if you're really nice some in-car video of the s2k autoxing(assuming i don't embarrass myself down here.)
  • AbideAbide Council Member
well guys I have some terrible news........it seems two of my beauty rings escaped on the way home from the junkyard. :(
I doubt ill ever come across something like that again.

so i made up for it by getting those corners on in the pouring rain

    242.jpg

    243.jpg

no more cracks yay! now to get to covering the pods!
  • simplyhondasimplyhonda Council Member
Covered pods should be neat. Interested to see those. And yes, nothing like having crack-free lenses! Stay away from the crack!
  • AbideAbide Council Member
And as slightly promised, my videos from this weekend.

I really like the headliner and the seats. It doesn't look over the top, kinda has a factory look to it. Nice work. Where did you find the headliner material?
  • AbideAbide Council Member
speaking of headliner material covered my speaker pods in the same stuff today! pretty excited about them going in....just need to pick some speakers this weekend too.

now do i put more of the fabric in the tray? or should i put down a nice felt in black or brown or beige?

This is the fabric im using:
    http://www.hancockfabrics.com/Houndstoo ... ewprod.htm

The look im after is modified with a mix of classic and current style, with oem or better fitment and form. And then im also trying to go as tacky as i possibly can and totally 80s while still keeping it classy. So thanks, it appears I'm headed in the right direction.
  • simplyhondasimplyhonda Council Member
They look sweet! I'd go with a black in the trays. Maybe even black rubber or your felt idea would look nice too.
  • AbideAbide Council Member
ended up grabbing brown and camel at lunch. we'll see how it looks and if its bad hey it was only $.25 a square so i can redo it

    332.jpg

updates later tonight, hopefully mounted if i can find a solution for the middle screw
  • AbideAbide Council Member
got ready to put in the pods

    336.jpg

pulled it all apart and took it to a car wash and vacuumed the years of crap out of the back then wiped down every panel and surface with a little simple green

    337.jpg

    oem wire still chillin there

    338.jpg

brackets mounted behind using the little clips that hold the top trim in

    339.jpg
    340.jpg

    right pod

    341.jpg

    left pod

    342.jpg

    money shot

    335.jpg

then polished out my cluster. it had what looked like water spots etched into it from what i assume was armor-all or something all over it. hit it with some PlastX and then got the Anmar seal of approval.

    343.jpg

enjoy. now i just need to find some nice speakers. thinking about going back to some cdts like my old audio days but the are pricey and really need to be amped
  • simplyhondasimplyhonda Council Member
I love my JDM Gathers! and not just caus' there JDM....I could give a shit. But they sound great and look sweet too. Just throwing that out there.
    530.jpg
    578.jpg
  • AbideAbide Council Member
Too pricey for me for the quality. im sure they are great speakers but with the jdm markup its a bit much for me.
And i need them in the front. I may go back to CDT Audio that i had in my accord way back when. Wont quite go competition level again but something better than cheap polks would be nice.
  • AbideAbide Council Member
hit the junkyard early yesterday for a teggy spindle for a friend of mine and it had a lip. pulled it off and went to see how close it was. nearly a direct fit for the wagon(bolt holes even almost line up but 3" too long on the ends so im gonna cut em off and mount it next weekend i think.

    462.jpg

hit a local drift event around lunchtime and beat on the s2k then picked up some speakers to throw into the pods from a buddy of mine till i decide what i actually want back there(likely going back to CDT)

    463.jpg

which led to me noticing that the front right and rear left were swapped......oh green and grey....colorblindness strikes again....
sooo i pulled that out and rewired it

    464.jpg

then masked off all the side molding and hit it with some plastidip

    465.jpg
    466.jpg
    467.jpg

we'll see how terrible it looks tomorrow....then more masking and plastidip this weekend for all the other black bumper and sideskirt parts

I also finally got that trim that goes under the back glass off and primed(self etching) and painted then rubbed all the apparently not at all stuck on paint off trying to put it back into those clips. How in the world is that supposed to go on, and it was also apparently rubber around it and not paint so does it actually need that little gasket thing going on or what. im a little confused and worried about it.
  • AbideAbide Council Member
hey you folks with slow internet hate me yet?
pulled off my side skirts tonight and painted my spare spoiler with some plastidip

hopefully some better daylight pics soon. Painting the front and rear bumpers this weekend if all goes well. still have no idea how to get the trim piece under my rear glass back on but im gonna see what kind of shape the one in the junkyard is in on saturday.
  • pics no worky :(
  • AbideAbide Council Member
you HCWers killed my 10gb bandwith limit on photobucket! I just bought 2 years of pro though so i think ill be good on bandwith!

on a side note though i need help this back glass under trim thing is near impossible to get back on and im so confused about it.

I'm also not sure where to get a decent clutch from for a 88 RT i want something more grippy than oem but i dont want to spend 500 on a competition brand. exedy doesnt seem to have one. i know the 88 is 200mm and 21 spline but does that mean anything in that size will fit because i found some nice exedys on ebay with a flywheel in that size but it said NO 4WD
  • I think I read something on here about clutches for the RT. You buy your year specific clutch kit and then buy or use the RT throw out bearing. I guess they are different then non rt. Can anyone confirm.
  • AbideAbide Council Member
    835.jpg

MORE plastidip on the front and rear bumper! and a teg lip! lined up really well just hand to trim off 2-3" from the ends. the bolt holes were the same just too shallow! I swapped the washer fluid bottle and cleaned the lines too

    835.jpg

loving it more every day. want to see it keep progressing.
